You, like many of other boxing fans are gassed up, Porter even in the rematch was losing some of the exchanges with Julio Diaz. His inside game is decent, he is more in and out. His success lately is off the fact that Malignaggi was never that good to begin with, past his prime, not a puncher and can't fight on the inside. Alexander for the most part had similar deficiencies, can't punch or fight on the inside.

Marquez is heavy handed and may still prove to be too good of a counter puncher for Porter's aggressive style, I can see Porter running into shots if he isn't more selective than he's shown. If Marquez can keep him honest then I can safely say Porter isn't winning because he's never shown to have the kind of boxing ability to deal with that caliber of a fighter.

Wouldn't pick Marquez over him that's for sure. Not at this point, but as you said, he might have been the favourite going in as he was against Bradley (if i remember correctly).

What I like about Porter is that he seems willing to fight the top guys. I appreciate that.
Porter's going to be tough for anyone to beat as long as his chin holds up.

If he shows he can take a good punch then he'll be a tough out for anyone.

Fast, strong, versatile, stamina. Good fighter.

SN:I find it wierd that not anyone mentioned the constant elbows Porter threw, after every sigle puch he shot off a vicious elbow after it, even the knockdown I felt the 4-5 elbows caused the brutal reaction and not neccessarily the clean shots he mixed in. ALL in all Porter gets little props here, until the SMW faces a WW his size and as dirty as him such as Guerrero he wont get my respect.....

Also lets chill with the hyperbole, Porter is good but he has proven he's chinny, and I question if he fear that is a flaw being that he picked on the lww's parading around 147 in his last 2 matches. Even early on I noticed pillow fisted Paulie froze him with at least 3 sharp right hands
Sounds like you really don't want to support him lmao. When was he proven chinny?

Porter has improved since he beat Diaz, even since he beat Alexander. Paulie was never that good to begin with? Paulie was not elite but he was still a very good fighter. He just couldn't deal with Porter's aggression and pressure.

Marquez I think is just too far gone to beat Porter, he looked like **** against Bradley and even looked pretty average when he KO'd Pacquiao. You're right I can see Marquez pulling off some counters against Porter, but I think in the end Porter would win a decision over Marquez.

Porter's speed and in and out movement would trouble Marquez as would his jab.

I could see Porter out boxing Marquez. He's not just a brawler like people like to claim.

You don't have to be a great boxer to outbox Marquez like others have shown before like Bradley, Gainer and John.

Malignaggi even in his prime was never a very good fighter and wouldn't have offered any more than he did. I saw a much younger Malignaggi get dominated against a similarly fast footed aggressive fighter in Hatton.

Bradley can box, has displayed that countless times and Porter couldn't successfully do that against Julio Diaz and I am acknowledging that his approach has changed at this moment but he's never shown that he can fight off the back foot which he'll most likely need to do against Marquez. Also Marquez fought competitively against Bradley.
