Shumenov was a no name.... but then again, so was Murat. Shumenov had the advantage of being a LHW "title" holder and fighting on Showtime his fight before this one

No need for Kovalev right? But can't even break 800k with a LHW title unification.

Kovalev broke a million against an unknown
Man, who cares about Hopkins, that fight was boring, just like the Quillin fight. If Al Haymon and GBP want to protect boring fighters that's on them.

I'd rather watch Kovalev tackle whoever, it won't be long before he's the cash cow.

I didn't know either. But I remember when I first got cable I'd wait til the following week to watch the fights. This was all before streaming and not being broke happened to me.
Yeah i knew they showed the PPV fights the next week, but usually there is a live fight that comes with it. Since I knew HBO had no fights that night (live fights), I didnt even think twice about turning the channel to HBO. Still wonder if NBA Playoffs, NHL Playoffs and even UFC messed with the numbers of this fight. Honestly, the replay of Manny/Bradley doing under 700k is pretty bad also.

Nobody cares about Hopkins and he bores people to pieces.

            Breaking news at 11.

              Porter/Malignaggi was the fight...
... Well, I was surprised that you, in America, had such a boxing card during the Easter mass... But nevermind...

They gonna realize how much they need Kovalev when they see the Stevenson numbers and the he drop off from his HBO departure

In hindsight yea.... but coming in, the Hopkins fight was bigger and seemed like the one more people would care about

But like you pointed out... there was no live fight that night. It takes two to tango. If there would've been a fight that night the replay would've done better and vice versa. IMO anyway.

                      Yes and no...

Who the **** is Shumenov? Meanwhile you had Porter coming off of a big win. He also fought in AC in front of Peterson fans where Alexander also fought. Then you had Malignaggi who's an East Coast fighter.
