Whatever might be your preferred style, the name of the game is winning. I'm not a big fan of guys that avoid too much engagement, but to call them runners isn't always accurate. Lara is one of my least favorite Cuban pros; he's too inactive for my taste. But a runner? No. He's not a runner. He didn't get floored twice by Angulo and smash Perro's face by running. Landy didn't get that knot on his head and dominate P. Will by running. He didn't dominate and knock down Trout by running. But he has allowed fights he should've won clearly to slip his grasp because he was too inactive.Comment

I dont fight at all, but I wrote a book about a fighter called 'A Hollow Fight'
A Hollow Fight is the story of a troubled fat boy named Mike Crow who decides that being homeless is more satisfying than living a typical teenage life. Happily, he takes off from San Diego California and travels aimlessly down Pacific Coast Highway. He fights off weather changes, battles hunger, and searches for nightly shelter.
Months after embarking on an uncertain journey, the adventurer ends up in the Oregon wilderness. Mike climbs hills, talks to animals, builds fire pits, and meanders through monstrous trees as he lives as one with nature. Survival becomes what he believes will be the fight of his life after he runs out of canned goods to eat and can’t locate clean water. As he is dying, Mike spots a cargo train and is forced to stab himself for adrenaline.
In Seattle, Mike the bum rescues a girl being attacked; however, he is put in a sticky situation and goes to jail. At trial, he is found innocent and is approached by an older jury member named Ethan Chan, whom happens to be a boxing trainer. As Mike trains for his amateur boxing fight, he learns a thing or two about love when he bonds with the old wisdom of Ethan.
Available formats include iBooks, Nooks, Kindles, and paperback.
*Part of each sale goes to The O.C. Rescue Mission!

Originally posted by GhostBladeCanelo looked like a beast from the opening bell against Angulo. I bet the same Canelo will show up against Lara and blow everyone's mind on how good he was. The Mayweather fight seemed to be a learning experience for Canelo because he seemed fired up against Angulo. Lara's trash talk won't serve him against Canelo who will probably come out with guns blazing and mess Lara up worse than Angulo did.

WBA 'regular' junior middleweight champion Erislandy Lara (19-1-2, 12KOs) sat down with BoxingScene.com to discuss the biggest fight of his career, scheduled for July 12th against Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (43-1-1, 31KOs) at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The fight will headline a Showtime Pay-Per-View event.
Lara has been chasing down a fight with Canelo since 2012. He confronted the Mexican star last month, at the post-fight press conference following Canelo's tenth round TKO victory over Alfredo Agulo. Now Lara gets his wish.

I promised I wouldn't troll Nelo threads anymore if he fought Lara....promise kept!!...still slightly favoring Lara though....when I look at Lara, I see "don't EVER bet against me" written on his faceComment

Fans are complacent because they sense there's nothing that can realistically be done. And I agree. The only way to change the sport is to hurt wallets. You need droves of fans to boycott boxing in order to do that. But that requires leadership. Who do the fans have to lead them? The only other possibility is that the sport becomes so unbearable that fans spontaneously walk away en masse. Neither are likely to happen.Comment
