You don't get credit for the guys who whooped your ass. And the guys he beat who were prime some would argue were never that great. Pascal, Pavlik, and Tavoris Cloud were nothing special. Hell Pavlik was over the hill by his late 20s.
B Hop deserves all the credit for beating Trinidad though.Comment

Absolutely, look i respect Mayweather's accomplishments! I picked him to lose against Mosley, Castillo, Corrales and 2nd Maidana fight and he proved me wrong so i praise him for that!
But don't disrespect a thorough legend like Bernard Hopkins, him facing a prime Roy Jones Jr and Trinidad trumps all of Floyd's prime opponents he's faced!
I'll always give Mayweather big time praise for moving up in weight and his first fight was against the best guy at 135 at the time in Castillo!Comment

Corrales
Castillo
Judah
Ortiz
Maidana
Canelo
Hatton
Guerrero
all prime and he actually won all of themComment

may. 2 reasons;
1 - even IF their resumes are comparable, may never lost
2 - may fought in more weight classes.
bonus, what kinds of careers did the guys hop beat have ? were they ever true threats or were they just the next guy up ?Comment

Fair play on the part that he won them all. Canelo def wasn't prime though, more like before his prime and I'd argue Guerrero was moreso in his prime at the lower weights!
Floyd definitely has one of best resumes of all time but I'm still picking Hopkins cuz he just retired, damn man hard to believe watching these two as i got older and now both are gone!
Some of the last breeds of guys of that era where boxing was more than just a paycheck!Comment
