Some people are too emo on this forum....everyone has a preference but posters biase or dislike towards certain fighters is obvious

I get called a hater because I am more critical of certain fighters than others. Some people's favorite fighter. Sue me.

I dont expect more out of one fighter than the other. These grown azz men need to get out of their feelings and be realistic

Hopkins has no where near the resume Mayweather has and its not even close. Hopkins lost to all his best opponents and biggest wins are over guys moving up. Especially at 160 and most at 175

    • Hopkin's win over Trinidad craps on anything Mayweather has accomplished in his pro career. Mayweather never tamed a beast in his prime like the alien did.

Nah Hopkins didn't blood drain his opponents and try to get every little advantage, e.g. giving Maidana pillowy walmart gloves, and draining Canelo. Mayweather used IV roids and other top of the line steroids. Bhop ate clean and was a disciplined guy. Plus he has the better resume.

              who has beaten more champions?

              Hall of famers?

              Won more titles?

              lineal title defenses?

              lineal title fights?

              who won more alphabet belts?

              Mayweather did

cant rewrite history because you aren't fund of a fighter

Hopkins lost to all his best opponents, in his prime and past prime

Mayweather was more dominant and consistently fought a higher level of competition

Hopkins resume at 160 is overblown....he only defended the middleweight title 6 times and the rest were defenses of the ibf title vs no names, shot former champions, and greats moving up.

Mayweather kicked azz across 24 pounds

now you tell me how Hopkins resume is better when the stats say otherwise...I'll wait

              • Hopkins best wins: Tito, Oscar, Tarver, Pascal

                Floyd: Pac, Oscar, Hatton, Cotto/Judah?

Floyds resume is probably deeper but Hopkins has more quality based on when he beat said opposition and the risks he took at 175 (Tarver, Pascal and so on).

So I voted Hopkins back then and I'd stick to it. It's a close thing though, mainly because of Mayweathers win over Pac.

I don't think it's clear either way, which is what makes this topic so intriguing.
