Bernard sees things that no other fighter (besides Floyd maybe) sees, so if he steps into a ring with someone, I would worry about that guy. As far as ducking goes, if BHop's not afraid to get it on with Stevenson, then he's sure as **** not afraid to mix it up with Kovalev.
Where were those "Dawson-level skills" when Stevenson KO'd his ass?

Those skills got leveled. Bhop also ducked Ward, but I use that term loosely since he's 50. It's just curious why that's never mentioned. Dawson probably could still beat Hopkins, moreso a style thing than skill - Dawson isn't supremely skilled, his defense is bad, but he's got fast hands and that bothers Hopkins.

Be reasonable: Ward would have outwrestled even a prime B-Hop out of the ring... Grandpa is aware about his protege's skills.

Erdei lost it because he VACATED it in 2009. Hopkins became Lineal Champ by beating Pascal, who beat Dawson, who was Lineal Champ because he beat Tarver and Johnson after Erdei VACATED his title.

Its a difference between fighting in a different division for one fight, and vacating your title to fight in a different division. Roy Jones didnt vacate his titles at 175 to fight at Heavy. Mayweather didnt vacate his titles at 147 to fight at 154, and Dawson didnt vacate his title at 175 to campaign at 168. Win lose or draw, these fighters would all still have been champs in their original division after the one off fight they competed in in their alternate division.

In any case, Stevenson is certainly the Lineal champ, beating Dawson for the Lineal title that he himself won BACK from Hopkins in 2010. No if's and's or but's about it.

The fact that Erdei fought a better opponent than he had in years and then somehow loses a "lineal" title because of it shows you how ridiculous a lineage is, further making a joke of it being the fact that Erdei weighed less in his CW fight than Dawson weighed in his SMW fight once entering the ring. Add on the fact that Dawson got butt whooped by Ward further drives home how degraded this lineage is. Dawson had no claim of being lineal champ until fighting Hopkins as the Erdei CW fight happened after Dawson fought Johnson, and that fight should have no baring on it anyway.

So you can say a new lineage was created from Pascal-Hopkins-Dawson, then Dawson gets butt whooped by Ward. Some lineage..
