      It wouldn't make a difference if he had 20 fights and then lost, it would just look worse. Sure, he could and should have had some tune-up fights, to get accustomed to the pros, but it is good that he is confident in himself. And he didn't make excuses post fight, which shows he tried his best, and he was content with his effort, he will learn from it and bounce back.

      Loma may have been overrated, but that doesn't mean he isn't good, and doesn't have the potential to be great. Within two fights he has proven he is at the top end of the division, or definitely within touching distance. Not many fighters could do that. There isn't really any basis IMO to say GRJ can win this fight or is some favourite, based on the fact he has fought 20 bums. He hasn't even fought someone like Loma's first opponent! So already Loma has the better resume. Russell only started fighting 10 rounders in his 19th fight, while Loma did that in his first.
