Seems strange that posters are here trying him for an old case in a thread about his demise.

he was an average fighter, w/ a good punch, strong...back when I saw him @ MSG, all losses vs **** Tiger( he won only a round or 2 out of 15 & dropped a couple times), Jose Gonzalez, Joey Archer &n in Philly vs Giardello ( it was no robbery he lost by a wide margin, not like the movie)...

i'm glad that SOME people actually take the time to look over the case and his career & life instead of following the Hollywood movie which was entertaining but a total fabrication. So bad that Giardello succesfully sued the makers of the film.

Still, even if he was smaller and played for the pink team, Griffith was a true ATG. Carter took him out in a roun. He was a contender in a good division.

I can't say that I know enough about the case to make an argument either way, but I can assert that Hollywood and celebrities in general cannot be blindly trusted to know or disseminate facts.

Just an example: The classic film "Birdman of Alcatraz," starring Burt Lancaster, depicts the famed prisoner as someone much more sympathtic than the real-life convict. Robert Stroud, as I later learned, was actually a sociopathic pedophile...not exactly someone the public would pay to view in any kind of positive light.

I don't know if Jimmy's facts are correct, but he seems better informed than anyone else here. He certainly makes his case much more solidly. If anyone wants to argue on Carter's behalf, they need to do a better job. Relying on Carter's own words and celebrity opinion just doesn't cut it.
Carters Own Words, were not the reason for His release from Prison...
Why do U think they Cut Him Loose?
The Recant of the Testimony of the Thieves, that Convicted Him was the
one reason the State, dropped a case, they knew they could not Win....
The Cops and Prosecutors, were under great pressure to solve the Case,
and Rubin was a Intimidating Black Dude; so a Easy Mark, for Desperate
                  Prosecutors...
As for Jimmy, His Lies about Dylan's not supporting Carter, indicate that

No he wasn't you dopey cvnt, he was found guilty, twice, they were overturned on the basis he didn't get a fair trial and as by the time a third trial would have happened the crimes happened 2 decades before and they couldn't gather any more evidence at that point they decided not to retry him and released him on a technicality. Does anyone here know anything about it other than what was in that ****ty film?
