Butt... of course there's always the WBC, so he could possibly hook him up when he wants it.
Do they really care about Quillin?

Titles come free all the time so they can still put Quillin in with Canelo title or not either for a defense or an eliminator or possible just a first go at 160.

Some organization (cough WBC) will want Canelo with that strap around his waist. It is not like people would respect Canelo that much more for taking a strap from Quillin than some other random dude based on what I have seen.

Maybe they're not even confident that it will. Danny's back, but they have hardly put him in anything big. He didn't even make the Showtime undercard 3/15.

He's reportedly back July 26th though at Barclay... so they could start the building for a fight later this year.

I doubt it will be against Quilin in July because his daughter is going to be born then, and he won't miss that.

So IMO, the next logical step is Quillin/Jacobs later this year. If it's not... man, these dudes wasting their time

They seem to care... they call him, the second best MW after Martinez, and it's a damn shame. They still put him on undercards too... so they might somewhat care about him.

They should know that while he's staying int he same place/slowly moving up (snails pace), his counterpart on HBO is skyrocketing.

Seriously, if you're going to be fighting guys like Konecny, then fight three times a year. His last 3 opponents wouldn't be so bad.... if it was all in a year, not over the span of a +1.5 years

Alright, he's not hurting if he's content with where he is right now in his career. Only two fights he has a chance at headlining his own card is Jacobs and Canelo.....maybe Stevens.

If he's cool with fighting on undercards for what he's making, he's just fine right now. But from what he's saying, he wants more... but his management isn't evening trying to make fights with mid level people who're from other promotions.
I fully expect Kid C to fight Alvarez soon or even Jacobs. Golovkin is not happening.

Better to keep the title in house, because he'll definitley lose it outside of GBP

He's goign to lose it either way I guess. Jacobs beats Quillin's ass worse than he beat his cancer

Yeah definitely. I was surprised they even put him in with Njkam to be honest.

He is their guys so of course they care a bit but in a game of chess do they view him as a pawn or as a power piece, he could easily be viewed as a sacrificial piece if it puts them in an advantageous position. They obviously want people to believe he is a power piece instead of a pawn though, that is to their and his benefit but I think they would throw him under the bus in a heartbeat if it benefited them.

I am not saying what you are saying about Quillin is not true, but that isn't even close to my point. HBO will not work with GBP no matter what right now, you and I both know that, and Golovkin needs a quality opponents so throwing this out there is a good attempt to try and reopen communication between the two groups.

                    • Also if he is going to lose either way, they want that lose to be the most beneficial possible.

A lose to Jacobs would not be bad for them but they would essentially be replacing Quillin with Jacobs, that is kind of a wash.

A loss to Golvkin does nothing for them directly and in some ways hurts by a strap leaving their group but HBO would then be an outlet for some of their guys even if not headlining as an a-side but as opposition
