He's a pro boxer in the top 10 of the division, has competed with elite guys and won rounds. Not with his power was it. It was his boxing skills.

So insisting he's not a good boxer is a rather an exaggeration.

You mean after Nate tore him up, had a close fight with Kats and then JMM knocked him out all at 135 and then Paulie fought him a weight class higher?

Even then, these are very good wins for Paulie but they came against a guy that was going up in weight and had 3 bad fights in a row. I would say these two wins are better than the N'Dou and Senchencko but Diaz was never the man.

Not really - when you look at guys like Mauricio Herrera and Tim Bradley who have 4 and 12 kos respectively. Now compare their skill level with that of Paulie and you would have an idea why I don't think Paulie is a good boxer at the elite level.

Pure, unadulterated, unfiltered hate, not only for Paulie but for Porter, that young, hungry champion just battered a guy who hasn't been beaten that convincingly...ever! Yes Khan and Cotto stopped him and stopped him big but they didn't do it as quick and there were moments for Paulie. Porter annihilated him.

Give credit where credit due, Malignaggi was a terrific fighter, not great, not exceptional but very good, like a large number of "names" around and Porter made easy work. Porter is for real.

its pretty strange how margarito is an overrated bum although he was #1 for years and beat cotto, clottey, martinez, and a bunch of other top 10 fighters but paulie is so highly regarded for doing nothing but getting destroyed by top guys. i think it all comes down to styles. some people simply think guys who move around and jab are superior to guys who come forward and try to destroy you.

haha agree, but isn't your analogy kind of what happened in the Bhop vs Zaghe ?

Paulie has had a wonderful career. He was absolutely beasted on last night. I don't want to see him manhandled like that again. Time to call it a career.

He's a decent fighter who's promoted himself very well.

Paulie was a solid fighter, them legs aint as young as they used to be...and Porter came at him pretty relentlessly...Cotto didn't stop Paulie like someone said in this thread I saw...

Credit to Porter...maybe its time for Paulie to hang em up...
