Comments Thread For: Alex Leapai Fully Fit as Klitschko Showdown Draws Near

You'd never mistake heavyweight title contender Alex Leapai for a boxing butterfly, but he's learnt the value of how to float in the leadup to his challenge to Wladimir Klitschko.

Hard-punching Leapai has always had the power to fulfil half of the legendary Muhammad Ali's line of stinging like a bee, but floating has become a vital part of his preparations.

Queenslander Leapai heads to Germany on Saturday for his fight against quadruple world champion Klitschko in Oberhausen the following weekend.

Alex got some good sparring in. He'll do better than people think. I don't believe he'll connect much on Wladimir, but he's in solid condition to take punishment.

Running in water instead of doing real road work? That doesn't sound promising.

kali Meehan's son or brother? wills Meehan? i'll have to investigate...on that note I don't see him lasting past the 3rd or 4th round... he couldn't take kevin Johnson's chicken legged taps so how is he suppose to take wladimir klitschko's punches? his jab is a power punch...

Wladimir traded in road work for swimming years ago. Less wear on the knees and ankles.

Leapai could train on the ****ing moon however, it makes no difference. He is the least-worthy title challenger in years.

Him being in the ****ing ring is an insult to Wladimir and the championship.
