Comments Thread For: Povetkin vs. Glazkov is Reportedly Eyed for Early June

Political tensions are sky high between Russia and Ukraine nowadays. Boxing tensions, specifically in heavier weight classes, are quite high as well. The confrontation between two fraternal nations reached its climax on Oct. 5 in 2013, when Alexander Povetkin’s ambitious challenge was effectively repelled by reigning heavyweight king Wladimir Klitschko in an important, but mostly forgettable fight.

this is a good fight but i'd have to go with povetkin because of experience. glazkov beat adamek but he was nearing the end. glazkov has some pop & povetkin hasn't faced a younger more powerful opponent yet so this will be very interesting to see. I hope it happens. still not sure how good glazkov really is. saw him struggle with malik scott & I actually thought he lost. he had a career night against adamek but i'm not sure that will be enough to beat povetkin. I still think povetkin is one of the best HWs in the world...

I've liked Glazkov's skills for a while...his jab and straight right are pretty solid. It's his stamina that concerns me.

I expect a close fight, think I'd make Glazkov a favorite.

Glazkov was born in Ukraine, but he's an ethnic Russian.

Duva hooked her guy up with a shot. Wish it was Cunningham because he needs the money, but maybe he can take the winner....

Solid heavyweight fight, I will take Povetkin because I think he is tough enough to take what Glazkov has and will end up dishing out more punishment.

If I am wrong I blame Malik Scott, I can't get that fight out of my head when I think about Glazkov, even though Povetkin is nothing like Scott.

Good match-making, both are almost equally big and i think it will make for a good fight. When a short guy fights a mutch taller guy and bigger guy, chances are 90% that it will be a pain in the ass to watch. But these two should make for a good fight.
