To those saying that what the MGM did was unprofessional, Arum's tirade was even worse. As a promoter, you're supposed to be on the up and up on that aspect of the promotion. Top Rank's offices are in Las Vegas and not one person of the company spoke with the MGM regarding the promotional items of the Pacquiao/Bradley II fight until fight week? Top Rank should have acted like adults and should have had meetings with MGM behind the scenes and out of the media.

Top Rank used the Thomas and Mack a lot with DLH in the 90's...MAGO, Whitaker, Camacho, Chavez II, Quartey.

          Lewis-Holyfield II was there.

Calzaghe-Hopkins was one of the more recent big fights there.

It's not the best venue, because it's not on the strip, takes a lot more effort to go there (especially for the rollers staying at the MGM) and it's older...but still, it's been used plenty for boxing.

That's not accurate...according to what Arum told Rick Reeno th ey had a discussion about it, and supposedly, were told something differnt from what happened:

"First of all, before we made the deal...[Top Rank President] Todd [duBoef] talked to [MGM's President & Chief Marketing Officer Bill] Hornbuckle. We have an email from Hornbuckle, which they have since violated. That is part of the contract. I don't talk to them because I don't believe anything they say, so Todd talks to them. And one call in particular, I was there when he was talking in the car to Hornbuckle and Hornbuckle said every right thing. And then you know something? Nothing the f*** happened. It's a jerkoff. That's the way they want to act, that's fine."

Lots of fighters dream of fighting in MGM. This news doesn't help TR with talent recruitment.

Arum is fine. He jumped to show time when hbo didn't do a pac, Shane fight (I think)

He will always go where he wants.

Whether it is good? I don't know

The brutal reality is Arum was never a diplomatic character and age is only exasperating it to the point of being a belligerent stubborn old man.

Not good for anything, anyone, and certainly not business/sport.
