haha if that is the case, maybe Top Rank placed a high bid, and let it slip out on purpose knowing GBP would have to shell out 60% if they took it.

Either way GBP found out somehow what Top Rank bid. Maybe Top Rank leaked it on purpose. Who knows..
I don't think HBO would pay $1 million for this fight. ShowTime got suckered.

Yeah when the bids were 4-5X more than where they should have been, it tells me there were some shenanigans taking place.

Absolutely the winner deserves his share of props I think Loma has more at stake then both. Russell has been on a journeyman streak with an unproven track record Loma simply can't lose this fight on the other hand Russel wins he beats a top 2,3 fringe contender in his division and one of the most decorated amateurs.

HBO or SHO wouldn't be paying for the bid. Goldenboy is and they get the profits for airing it on SHO event probably a undercard.

Journey men don't become World Champions I think you need to stick to your day job of Shining shoes, now go get your Phucken shoe box quote from Billy Bats

Yes journey men can become champions and Orlando Salido is not your regular journey man plus this is the reason why mexico has so many world champions there are elites to journeymen but loma vs russel is a different beast and loma does not have that real professional experiences Russel has some but its enough to beat loma these idiots are destroying this kid

I thought Oscar cared about the history of boxing? If so why did he get involved with this freak show circus act of a fight? Is it possible that Lomachenko has something on Oscar? Possibly the unedited tapes, that go along with the photos, from Oscar's night in fishnet stockings from a few years back?

This will be part of a 3 fight card. Wonder which other fights take place this night? Devon Alexander-Robert Guerrero Austin Trout-Gabe Rosado maybe. Abner Mares?

You can't randomly say '' Hey i want to increase my bid to match or beat my arch rival's winning bid''. LoL. Top Rank came up short, it happens on to the next one for them.
I honestly don't know if they use sealed bids or what, but I struggle with the concept that it's just co-incidence that GBP came in just $2.5K above TR, and with such a random kinda figure. As I say I don't know the procedure but just the amounts alone suggest either competitive bidding or that GBP had foreknowledge of what TR were gonna offer.

I don't believe the bids are sealed, but who knows. The purse bid process is very mysterious.
Iron Mike Productions (IMP) won the right to promote the ordered 130 lb. title fight rematch between Argenis Mendez and Rances Barthelemy. The Florida-based

Mike Tyson outbid Warriors boxing for Mendez-Barthelemy II 261K to 251K. I read that a couple days ago and squinted my eyes... and now we have this bid with Loma and Russell.

If the bids are sealed, I wouldn't want to be the guy placed in charge of strategically formulating the bid..lol
