Interesting points. Yes, he has always seemed to fight around his weight. Despite his father saying he could, I just don't see it.

It would be very interesting if he were able to make 140 and fight Danny for the lineal JWW title.
I always wished floyd had gone down to 140 when he was younger to fight hatton for his lineal 140 title,,,
That would have been some GOAT type stuff to beat #1 welter baldomir, go up and fight #1 154 oscar, and then back down to 140 for the #1 hatton..
3 different weight classes, 3 #1 champs, in 3 straight fights,, that would have been an amazing feat

Floyd cheated Marquez on the scales by coming in 2 pounds over the limit. Besides, Floyd is naturally biggger than Pacquiao and Marquez so it isn't a fair comparison. Nevertheless, whenever Floyd didn't cheat and came in on the agreed upon limit, he fared worse than Pacquiao (Cotto, Mosley, Hatton, De La Hoya).

Marquez and Hatton also entered fights in the 150s. To say they are natural welterweights would be ******ed.

Floyd ducked Margarito, Williams, Pacquiao, and Martinez. He will probably duck Lara too. These are mammoth ducks, so Floyd is in no position to point the finger at others when it comes to ducking.

Same could be said for floyd,,, his power would be much better at 140...

floyd and manny both get alot of flack for not scoring any recent ko's, but they are up in weight and hardly cut anything.. It would be like GGG going to 175, his power wouldnt be the same... Floyd and manny at 140 would knock guys outs, no doubt
There is no way in hell Floyd can make 140. He could only get down to 146 for Marquez.

Floyd didnt want to make 144,,, he could have, but decided it would be too much work, the dude barely makes 150 and doesnt rehydrate,, He could easily make 140 and then rehydrate to back on the weight to 148-50

Styles make fights, making your comment irrelevant. Pacquaio is still quite a bit smaller than Mayweather is. Floyd looks like a guy who belongs at welterweight. Manny does not but still wins convincingly even without knockouts. It all comes down to each fighter's style so comparing how Pac beat Cotto or how Mayweather beat Marquez is totally irrelevant...

Would he really want to go back down a weight class or two?

Fighting at 147 helps him because he doesn't have to worry about weight at all so he can focus 100% on just training for the fight. I remember there was an interview a while back that he liked being at 147 because he didn't have to try to make weight at all.

Floyd is a middleweight at fight night, marquez confirmed it that floyd is at least 16lbs heavier than him.
