Marquez knows after 4 brutal battles that a victory over Manny is never a given.
He proved his point against Pac in extraordinary fashion and wants to go out with the win over a genuine icon.

Juan said exactly what needs to be said.

He also knows that the beloved pro will get the nod in any close contest.
Floyd knows this all too well as well.

Marquez arguably beat Pacquaio TWICE, two times in a row. In my opinion, Pacquaio got a gift the third time. So in Marquez eyes, he sees the whole thing quite differently. In his eyes, it's like fight a guy who I've beaten how many times already? If it goes to the scorecards, will I get robbed as usual? Is it going to enhance his legacy? Nope.

Your point is only valid had Marquez retired after KOing Pacquiao. However, his dumb ass decided to keep fighting and got his ass WHOOPED by Bradley. And then Bradley got his ass beat by Pacquiao. Marquez's only realistic ticket to true redemption at this point is to beat the man who beat the man.

You just helped me confirm in JMM's mind he is shook. If Pacquiao is a solved puzzle in his eye, why not do it again? Easy money. So what about the judges, as long as the fans know who won? Pacquiao didn't have this issue with Bradley. This is the only realistic fight at the moment to enhance his legacy. Never mind Pacquiao. He wants that WBO welterweight title. But not anymore. LOL!

In an ideal world, where a cold war doesn't exist, this would actually happen.

Marquez also thought he won the fight against Bradley. That is an absolute joke. He and nacho are delusional at times. Hell, it was Nacho's fault he lost the third fight after telling him to take the foot off the gas at the end of the fight.

Let's be honest here: Marquez was getting terrorized the last two rounds of their past fight. He was well on his way to being stopped when he caught Pacquiao. he knows he won't catch Pacquiao again because Roach will train the whole camp to take away the straight right. And, they will succeed. Good fighters and trainers usually can take away one weapon of their opponent if they train on it.

I've never seen Marquez take the punishment he did in that last fight with Pacquiao. Not even when he lost to Mayweather. There is a reason he doesn't want this fight. I don't blame him. He lost the first fight cleanly and got dropped three times (although officially a draw). The next two could have and some argued should have gone his way but didn't. He feels vindicated by a KO. Why risk getting KO'd himself in a rematch?
