So Rigo is 2 based mostly on beating Donaire yet Nonito is 24rd to you?



So Rigo is 3rd based mostly on beating Donaire yet Nonito isn't even in the top 30 to you?

Donaire's inactivity and bad performance against Darchynian has him down on my list. He would have been Top 15 P4P on my list easily even after the Rigo loss. I think he was top 5 on many lists before the Rigondeaux fight. I agree he could be higher on the list.

Andre Ward has been very inactive and hasn't been facing great opposition (an extremely drained Dawson and a drained Rodriguez at a rehydration limit over the last 2-3 years) so I'm lowering him to #3 at this point, I was also more impressed by Rigo's domination of Donaire than anything on Ward's resume despite Andre having the deeper resume.

About donaire... He is a hard one to judge... I rate my p4p as current, and not based solely on resume.. Currently I don't think donaire is mentally in the game anymore.. He has looked very poor in his last 2 fights. Donaire has made a lot of money and probly is getting sick of the training and sacrifices and has mentally checked out of the game... That's my only concern with donaire, especially if your ranking him top 10. But totally understand if someone does have him ranked, he was top 5 2 years ago and has only the loss to rigo

Fair enough. I question Donaire's heart also. I still think on paper resume is still part of how fighters should be ranked. Martinez should have lost his last fight and also looked just OK against guys like Barker, but he still hasn't lost in years so he still remains top 5.

It's all subjective I just think Donaire deserves to be top 10 still considering he is a HOF fighter who got outclassed by a guy who has clearly shown signs of being a special fighter.

I think the difference with Martinez is that he was fighting a much larger undefeated top contender while fighting in adverse conditions (broken hand/torn knee and outdoor stadium during a thunderstorm). Sergio fought through the adversity and dug deep to win the fight in the championship rounds. He definitely loses points, but is still in the mix and it is reasonable to assume that if he is physically okay, he can still deliver a very good performance.

On the other hand Donaire was being soundly outboxed by a much smaller fighter who was perceived to be shot at the time; his left hook saved him from a lopsided decision, but his boxing wasn't there. He was also coming off the decisive loss to Rigo.

Other than Mayweather being the obvious #1 it's hard to rank.

Ward's done nothing in years, Marquez just recently lost to Bradley, Pacquaio just had a good win but hasn't looked good recently, Rigondeux had a very impressive win over Donaire but hasn't done much else, Martinez hasn't looked great recently.

It's time for Andre Ward to drop way down people's lists. Drained Chad Dawson and Edwin Rodriguez in 3 years is not enough to keep him in that spot when the guys below him have so much better wins.
