It may have been a two lb catchweight but there was a lot of money at stake. I honestly don't think the CW would have made much of a difference that night anyway but if Cotto's team fought harder against the CW, the fight still would have probably happened anyway.

these guys fight for belts and purses. if you're under the assumption the majority of the top fighters aren't divas, you're delusional. i don't like it, but i can't do anything about it. so what does it matter.

Martinez will beat him. Hopefully, somehow/someway, Floyd-Martinez can happen in September. One can only hope.

lol, I doubt it bro. You're right about it being a lucrative fight, but there's a reason why he asked (and received) the CW.

Same reason Martinez is coming in 1st and fighting at 159; it's a lucrative fight.

It's no different than Margarito II CW. Show of power and control.

Obviously Martinez has a big ego himself. Martinez is getting a big payday from Cotto, and it's good not to be too pretentious. Anyway I believe that Martinez will likely be thoroughly outboxed on fight night, and Cotto will emerge victorious.

I agree. I'm not opposed to the party in a superior position making demands. It's a part of the game. Cotto is definitely the A-side, but he's going to be put to sleep on his back-side come June 7.
