You're a f.uckin' moron. Are you so f.uckin' ****** that you need a belt to tell you its a good, meaningful match-up. Floyd Mayweather is THEE jr middleweight champ. Canelo doesn't see the need in paying a sanctioning fee for a paper title. What's wrong with that? Why does he need to fork over 3% of his purse for a belt that means absolutely nothing to anybody semi-knowledgeable about the landscape of boxing. Tell me this. What if boxing went back to the Original 8 weight divisions and one recognized world title per. According to your ****** ass logic, you'd be watching about three fights a year

It's not a fairy tale though. This actually happened.
Canelo doesn't want to fight for a belt that rightfully belongs to him. He feels disrespected if anything if he were to do so.
I don't blame Canelo one bit. If the belt is on the line, and Canelo doesn't make weight, it's Lara that benefits! He gets to keep the belt. Canelo is letting him keep the belt already by default of not fighting for it. If Canelo doesn't want the belt, it's not because he doesn't want to pay the fees, or make weight. It's purely pride and he's fighting back against the powers that be. He's telling them **** you and your belt, I have pride, you're not going to disrespect me.Comment

They can make it a 12 round non-title fight.
Why do you care so much about the WBA "regular" title anyway? It's meaningless, Canelo already had it when he lost to Floyd.
The only thing you should care about is that him and Lara are getting it on. Be happy with that.Comment

The Ring mag belt has been devalued a bit in recent years. Not because DLH bought the magazine. But because they adjusted their championship policy in an attempt to crown more champions. That said, IMO The Ring belt is still the most credible of the five recognized world titles in each division. The only two titles I personally respect are The Ring and the lineal title.
As for the situation at jr middleweight. Yeah, Floyd's technically the champ. But, he's a welterweight that moonlights at jr middle when there's money to get. To me, Canelo and Lara are the two best jr middleweights in the world. And while the winner won't technically be the champ. In my mind he'll he THE MAN at 154.Comment

That's why I said it still merits some respect. I didn't say it deserves everyones outright respect and acknowledgement as THE belt. The point is that the alphabet titles mean absolutely nothing. The Ring mag belt has been devalued a bit in recent years. Not because DLH bought the magazine. I could care less if any paper title is on the line. This is a great fight all its own. I'm sure someone will dig some platinum or bronze or aluminum foil belt out of the trash if they really want a belt on the line.Comment

People complaining about belts need to gtfoh. The winner of this fight is going to be the top dog at 154( Floyd doesn't fight at 154) if you really need a belt on the line for a fight to have any meaning your an idiot.Comment

154 plus/minus one pound. "@zacshepherd91: @StephenEspinoza will Alvarez/Lara be at a catch-weight or 154?"
