Of course it matters how much he rehydrates that's why I'm asking. If he usually rehydrates up to 164 then the clause is irrelevant since he was going to be under regardless. I he usually put on 12-15 lbs then yes it becomes less ridiculous since he can't rehydrate as he normally does. Apparently since it wasn't written in the contract it was an oral clause they day of the fight.

And that is the whole point, verbal clause only for Lara, the small ring and slow mat I understand a little since he wasn't the main attraction, maidana was and he is a brawler, still that doesn't change the fact that he got the cards stacked against him, the only thing perro needed to do to find him was just to turn around and he was there, I haven't seen a gingers fight that could had prepared him for Lara.

Umm, he recently fought Floyd Mayweather. How is that not good prior experience for a guy like Lara? The only key difference is just that he's a southpaw. But Canelo also fought Trout, who is a southpaw as well.

uhmm, he got shut down by floyd and the open score ruined what could had been a good experience for ginger, in both case he didn't look good, I'm pretty sure Lara is going to punish him

Regardless of the outcome, the fights went 12 rounds. And that is ring experience, is it not? The experience is a good thing, not a negative. It's not like he got stopped or took a great deal of punishment.

Very similar to Garcia vs. Matthysse too. Everyone was like Garcia is ducking Matthysse, he's scared, he won't dare step in the ring. Then when the fight got made, they all backtracked and said Danny's gonna get executed. Then after the fight, there were more excuses. Lucas lost cause of a miracle eye swell.

FFS, there is literally nothing similar about these two situations. At all.

Yeah, it is similar, for the very reasons I've already outlined. And it centered around the disbelief that it would actually happen.

Lara was Alvarez's mandatory for like a year. He won 2 or 3 eliminator fights that were supposed to land him a title shot. This fight should have already happened.

Matthysse and Garcia fought pretty close to right away. You can argue that Garcia should have fought Matthysse instead of Judah, but Golden Boy decided on the mini-tournament instead.

Every time anyone accuses anyone of ducking, "Is this the next Garcia/Matthysse?"

That's true, what I was trying to say is that trout (with the open score), floyd and now Lara is like learning on the job, he faced a stream of jww/old and past their prime fighters and suddenly he is fighting the cream of the crop...
