He ducked rios. Plain and simple.

Marquez legs have been gone since before the rios fight, there is no way he was going to fight a big puncher brawled like Ruslan at this point in his career, it's a testament to just how good Marquez is that he's lasted this long at a high level, and he most likely wants another big payday with PAC despite what he says.

Rios was never going to get Ruslan, he's coming off 2 loses and he has little time left in this sport and needs a win.

And that's besides the fact he's a top rank fighter while Ruslan is only co promoter by top rank, top rank isn't going to let one of there own get demolished by a guy who isn't a top fighter.

IF alrgieri is physical enough to stand in front of Ruslan, this is a damn good fight. But at the end of the day he may be another mike arnoustis, very good fighter, but not strong enough for top guys.

Exactly; Like any good manager, Cameron Dunkin is only protecting his investment in the long run. Another loss can cause further damage Rios' career; Not just from a marketability standpoint but more importantly from a physical standpoint as well. So I think It's a wise business choice from Dunkin because while Provodnikov is a dangerous opponent who is popular among boxing fans, however he has a very small following and fan base to show for it. He is yet still an unknown commodity among the casual fan. Therefore, this type of fight should best be avoided at this time because a Prov/Rios bout is one of those high risk low reward type of bouts with very little upside to it.

And we wanted you to fight Rios.

I guess both those fights made too much sense, boxing surely can't make too much sense.

There was a video here on BS, where Rios said he does not want to fight @ 147. He said he wanted the Provo fight @ 140. It was Bob Arum who told Provo that Rios can't make 140, so that's why that fight didn't happen. How does the champ have to travel to the home of an up-and-comer? TR is wack!

You can't sleep on a fighter because they have a low profile. Everyone have to start some where.
