I wish this was true. Bradley is truly one of the good guys in the sport, and deserves to be the A side.
Unfortunately in the US, as an African American boxer if you're not talking shi* or knocking people the **** out you're not going to get much attention.
You do know nearly all the famous US fighters past and present are black right?
I'm pretty sure that applies to almost all races. I mean some of Mexican fighters (and others like british etc.) are popular due to nationality and there are exceptions but as far as most American boxing fans go? Yeah they wanna see you knock people out or make things interesting by talking some ****. Bradley has stepped up his talking game, he's obviously learning the business lol. I've always liked Bradley though because he's a tough son of a gun and he's really well rounded. I'd rather watch him than a guy like Paulie Malignaggi (both guys that don't usually knock people out). Not many guys get attention when they aren't at least capable of knocking people out often.
If Malignaggi had Bradley record and Wins he would be a huge Star!!!!
Its funny how all the haters come out when something is written about Bradley or Arum! Bradley is one of the good guys in the sport who's resume speaks for itself! The guy is willing to fight anyone! All you haters do is attack his following but name one top fighter who has the heart Bradley has? There's not many! As for the Arum haters, say what you want but Arum gives us exciting competitive fights! Manny vs Bradley2, Chavez Jr vs GGG, Martinez vs Cotto, Marquez vs Alvarado! Golden Boy only gives us mismatches which it tries to sell as a competitive fight! Floyd vs Maidana (damn near all of Floyd's recent fights) Kahn & Broner on the undercard(mismatches) why are they not fighting each other? Matthysse & Thurman on the same card but vs nobodies! Why aren't those two fighting each other? This is the Golden Boy way. There's a reason there is rift inside the Golden Boy castle! Schaefer is basing everything around Floyd & Haymon, but Oscar and the investors know that's bad for business!
You guys are right. I should have emphasized the American part.
But you have to admit, if you're not knocking out people or talking massive ****, no one is going to pay attention to you. Look how long it took Hopkins to get any recognition. Same with Pernel Whitaker, and a list of many others.
