I have no idea where these expert sites are. Maybe you can provide a link?
The ring side press (don't know if they qualify as experts)scorecards were made public and they were pretty much split down the middle with a slight edge towards Alvarez.
A gift as far as I know is basically a robbery in both cases it's something you didn't own or earn.

I love making you explode like this, lets hope next time you photograph better . You'll always be my first chola dont get jealous. I'm sure "Bardock" or whatever my other b*tch goes by these days wont mind sharing her pencil eyebrow maker with you. The first one is always special the one and only
I was serious about knowing these experts you talked about that called it a gift.
Have you not been watching tv?? on most boxing sites too (just google canelo vs lara) shiet even on espn mexican populated panel of "a los golpes" all but 1 of them had Lara winning, which I must admit did not expect objectivity from there..
They dont call them gift or controversial decisions for no reason. And the difference between a robbery and a gift is a robbery is completely 100% clear like lets say Campillo vs Cloud or Abril vs Rios . A gift is when the fight it's really close, but 1 judge fills out the card before they even start and "gifts" a close fight to the fighter that did the lesser of the two.But it cannot be called a robbery against the "looser" because it was close enough for people to swallow it even if said score raises eyebrows. The only reason that score is raising more eyebrows than usual is because the same "WTF" score always by 1 judge has appeared on 3 of the last 3 Canelo fights.
All the talk about he didn't "deserve to win" because of his strategy is ****** who gives a fk if he didn't "deserve", to win because you don't like the strategy he still won whether you like watching a guy fight of his back foot or whether you like Salido fouling his ass of to beat Lomachenko or not a win is still a win, and emotion shouldn't factor in it.
