All in all a pretty good card! Herrera's fight was good! He was hurting Perez with the jab and also working the body shots!!!
Vargas fight turned out how expected really. A short hard fight.
Mares fight was a little boring I thought.
And the canelo/Lara.
Canelo boxed for like 2 rounds then from 3 onwards was just looking for that 1 punch. Which most of the time he missed by a mile. He was throwing some sloppy as punches. I think where Lara went wrong was not capitalising on canelo been off balance after making him miss. I actually scored it 115-113 in favour of Lara. Could of even been wider in my opinion. Close rounds I gave to canelo cause pretty much that's what the judges would do....been the A side etc etc. Lara I thought was a lot cleaner and accurate.
CONTROVERSY
I personally think there should be a rematch. Whenever there is a controversial decision there def should be a rematch. Look at PAC/bradley.... The second fight just had to happen! It would of been wrong for the sport if they never fought again...and I think it's the same here!!!
Curious as what canelo fans think of a rematch??? I think if I was a fan I'd want a definite win. A controversial win just ain't the same!
That's my opinion anyway, but each to their own.
