Regarding the incident, I doubt Jauregui was forced at gunpoint to spar with Canelo. In fact he probably got paid for it. And a fighter preparing for a high profile bout can't be expected to go easy on his sparring partners. I don't see how his death is Canelo's fault.

Then again Canelos team said he wasn't sparring, but if he did he was an employee and normally there's Labour laws to protect people.
One fact to consider: Jauregui death was on December 9th 2013 while Alvarez vs Angulo happened on March 9th 2014 (three months later). Is it normal for a boxer to be sparring 12 or 13 weeks before a fight? Maybe someone can explain more on this.

I'd say it wouldnt be normal. Standard camp is probably 8-12 weeks. But some fighters spar year round to keep in shape.
