I still can't believe how close they bloody scored it considering mundine got knocked down 5 times!!

I am serious, if there was no knockdowns in that fight and Joshua still fought the same he did, he would have gotten robbed. I gave mundine 2 rounds and that was being nice!

He should have moved to Vegas and actively chased the big names at 160 and 168 at that point in his career, when he would have given the best guys good fights.
You are right he was a waste of talent and should of chased big fights years ago but the truth is he couldnt hang with the big boys, he learnt that against Kessler.

After Sven Ottke KOed him he stopped fighting outside of Australia.

So he was content in milking the aussie public by fighting plumbers on PPV.

      • I wish I had the balls to bet like said I would. Was afraid of home cooking. Thought it was absolutely nuts that Mundine picked Clottey out of all people. Inactive or not, Clottey was avoided for a reason.

I always thought Clottey was an elite talent at 147, and he might still be able to do something with himself at 154. I'd favor him over a lot of the 154 division. Dude has a durable style.

Deserved the nod against Cotto IMO.

He was beating Ottke handily and caught a short hook right on the temple if i remember rightly, and i put that down to lack of experience. Against Kessler when he let his hands go he won rounds, but as these fighters do they never let their hands go enough.

With Green he always had the advantage as Green is a robot in there, but he was in supreme physical shape. Roy Sr was throwing in fresh guys, cruisers to spar him and making him work that extra round or minute after he was spent. Sr said he wanted to quit and stop in sparring which he didn't allow. He would say things like "are you going to quit on the night of the fight" You could see the results against Green. He was fast, sharp and strong.

As for the bold you are right. He was comfortable making millions per fight because we all paid for it.
