Cotto is an excellent fighter and a Hatton fight would be close, but lately Cotto's defence has been a little exposed and his chin a little shaky maybe.. I doubt he'd stand up to Hatton's leather.
Poll: Who's better? Hatton or Castillo?

Cotto won his WBO title by beating Pinto. If that's not an alphabet title then I don't know what is. I just don't rate being a WBO titlist as being a greater accomplishment than the legitimate championship of the world.
I'm not saying Cotto is garbage. He's a dangerous fighter who has shown he has a lot of toughness and recuperative powers. And I love the way he goes to the body. I just don't think from the trouble he's had with the mid-level fighters that he will be able to beat Hatton, Mayweather, etc.
And by the way, you're simply incorrect about that being Kostya's longest layoff. He was off longer before the Mitchell fight- where he came out and destroyed. So think up another excuse.
I think Cotto has accomplished more and will accomplish even more! Hatton has had 40 fights and who did he win the titles from? Nobodys! Beating a Kelson Pinto or a Muhhamed Abdullave is better than anyone on hattons resume except for Kostya Tszyu. Both of those fighers were undefeated at the time when everyone thought they were going to be champions one day. I guess it did'nt work out for them huh? That's the same thing that is going to happen to Hatton once he faces Mayweather.
Don't come with that alphabet titlist ****. Who did hatton beat to obtain the any belt? Now what you gonna tell me? Hatton fought bums!! Cotto resume looks way better from when hatton had 25 fights. Ever since hatton fought Tszyu his ass stay clinching. As for the maussa fight also. Man enough of this nonsense saying Cotto is a alphabet titlist when hatton fought his whole life in manchester! or UK what ever same ****. Im not interested in remembering names of the UK.Comment

You're fcking ignorant and ******. No matter how you spin it Hatton beat a LINEAL champ. Cotto beat a bunch of paper champs and he shouldn't even have the WBO belt right now as far as I'm concerned. He's still a prospect.
By the way, Abdulaev was coming off of a loss when he fought Cotto.Comment

cotto vs hatton is a fairly even match up i think if cottos chin werent in question then i definitely go with him over hatton. but it is so it makes this match very interestingComment

I know about the Clottey fight I was just making a point. Since Abdullaev lost to Emmanuel Clottey he was relatively inactive and his opponents since the Clottey loss had a less than impressive combined 39-13-3 ledger.
My guage as to whether a guy is even a "good pro" is when he has at least 100 rounds of pro experience - Abdullaev had only 73 rounds of pro experience and only 16 fights. I'm comparing David Reid - Felix Trinidad to this bout who had 14 bouts at the time and we all saw what happened there.Comment

man reid was definitely a good pro. he was at 14-0 already well on his way to being a real great pro i mean like a guy that maybe wouldve beat mosley and dlh and even trinidad if he didnt fight him so early.
abdulaevs biggest problem was he was with dibella who dont support his prospects when they lose. abdualaev didnt even really lose and dibella dropped him after the clottey fight. he wouldnt have even fought cotto so soon if that hadnt happened. its fair to call abdulaev at least a pretty good pro. out of all the 140 lb fighters he was the best at the olympics.Comment

Good points but it seemed Abbie lost confidence after the "loss" to Clottey. From what I've read, he dropped down to the level of the competition and fought a bunch of lousy stiffs. It's fair to call him a pretty good pro - a top 10 guy but he wasn't in Cotto's league that night and his trainer was just awful.Comment
