So what. Everybody talks about fights that might happen in the future including you. The Cotto fight is a long way off so there will be lots of talk about what happens after he wins or loses. It's only natural.

I used to favor Martinez but after Mayweather's good showing in the Canelo fight and Martinez not looking as good in his last fight I think Mayweather has a good chance to beat him at 160. Martinez is a natural 154 pounder and only won the 160 pound title because he was given a title shot. He was making 154 with no problem in his mid 30s long after his body had stopped growing. Mayweather won't be giving up that much size to Martinez and he is a better boxer. Martinez hits harder and their speed is about the same so I think it's an even fight.

I agree that Martinez could have beaten May in the past and that it's probably no longer true, but IDK why Canelo would help you make that decision. Other than both being prettyboys who speak Spanish they have like nothing in common. Flatfooted caveman vs disco dancer.

Martinez's speed, power, size and southpaw stance would/would've caused Floyd all sorts of problems.

Martinez's isn't one of these slow, flat-footed robots Floyd likes fighting.

He doesn't have to, but it's not like they can't meet somewhere in the middle. And it's not an unreasonable match up.

Not like we're debating how he'd fair against heavyweights.

Canelo is naturally a bigger guy than Maravilla. Canelo walks around at 175/180, Maravilla around 170. Sergio can make 154 easier than Canelo (well he could've a few years ago anyway).

Floyd was happy to fight flat-footed, robotic Canelo at 152 catchweight but not Martinez.
