From what I heard many hardcore boxing fans from Mexico did not like him, because they believed he wasn't legit and he was created by Televisa. I guess in recent years he has gained some fan base and got brave and now has kicked his creator to the curb.

Do you have any sort of citation? You are just pulling rumors out of your ass without any sort of citation. He has fought multiple times on Televisa since their breakup without issue.

On a much more detailed article on ESPN Deportes, the reason is presumed to be the publication of an article on Canelo's supposed family issues in a gossip magazine owned by Televisa. It remains to be seen whether he can even take this kind of action because he may not have a contract with Televisa, but Golden Boy does and they may be contractually obligated to broadcast the fight on Televisa. Canelo is a HUGE moneymaker for them, and he owns the record for most-viewed broadcast in Mexican history so they won't just let him go. Canelo might think he has more power to call shots than he actually does.

Ok I'm reading all type of none sense, it has nothing to do with Marisol Gonzalez, there are two points here. The first is that Televisa is carrying the soccer World Cup like never before, all of their money is been put into soccer, sponsors etc. then again the coverage towards Canelo's fight will be very short. That is the first point but not a very credible one. The second and it has been confirm here in Mexico is that Canelo is very uncomfortable with Televisa in the way they treated him thru a publication name tv y novelas in which they made an article saying that Canelo basically Killed Chatito Jauregui do to their sparring sessions, the article is heavy towards Canelo and his team even quoting a witness that the magazine refuses to name, obviously all of this is false and Canelo and his team are very angry an upset with the magazine which is owned by Televisa, team Canelo claims (thru Mexican media) that how can they work for Televisa if televisa's magazine is making things up and talking bad and negative things about him, things that are false according to Eddy Reynoso (quoted by ESTO newspaper).

So, that's what is truly going on with the Televisa situation, it has nothing to do with money because GBP sell the international rights to Televisa and other networks so really Canelo has no participation directly with Televisa in that regard, which is really true is that Televisa made Canelo the big star that he is today, and there are some rumors that Televisa's owner is very angry and he is one powerful man that may affect Canelo's carrer.
