Canelo vs Lara is one of the best fights to make at 154.

It is though a bad match up for Canelo for a number of reasons, I respect his bravery though. By fighting Lara he is refusing the 'protection' that is usually granted to "cash cows". Nothing but admiration for it.



As for Lara, he should of course take the fight, Ishe Smith is a dedicated guy but Canelo vs Lara is a much bigger fight, no doubt about it.
Besides, if he beats Canelo he -might- get a shot at Floyd.

No the fight between Lara-Canelo is a great idea. It is one of the best fights to be made and the daydream that Floyd-Lara would happen is remote, to begin with. Lara is a 154 lber. He might do a catchweight. but I doubt Floyd would fight him at 154.

Maybe it is a dangerous fight, maybe not. I think Floyd can make almost anyone miss. I don't think his punching power is that threatening right now. If they fought it would be a defense-oriented sparring session. It is not a super fight.

The sparks could fly in the Canelo-Lara matchup. There are stylistic differences and I think there will be some intense bad blood by time they do fight. I hope it happens. Lara will talk a lot of trash about how he is going to school and dominate Canelo, as will his fans. And Canelo is going to get ready to answer all that with his arsenal of power and boxing skills. I think this is a much better fight for the fans.

My argument was about prioritizing a potential Lara vs Floyd fight, before a Lara vs Canelo fight. Although I did make those references. Not enough for you to respond to the thread as if I had blatantly made the whole thread about how Lara would lose. I honestly dont know who would win, but yall crazy if you think Lara will have an easy night. It will be his toughest fight.

Lara's only path to Floyd is through Canelo.

Floyd can stay put and fight guys like Khan, Garcia, Porter, etc. for equal or more money and way less risk.

Beating Ishe does nothing for Lara's career except put another boring one sided mismatch on his resume.
