Its truly sad. Posters refer to the late 80's and everyone fighting each other. I waited 5 years for Hagler v SRL. Hearns won his title and fought SRL over a year later. Hearns fought Duran in 84 and Hagler in 1985. Imagine the **** that we would have to read on NSB if this was around then?

Nowadays its like posters expect to have a fighters yearly schedule in January and if they don't that fighter is a duck, or gay or scared or whatever other childish, ****sexual term their limited intellect can come up with.

      Ridiculous.
This is true...but I think the salient point is that these guys DID fight. Currently, we dont have enough of this matchmaking.

I would disagree strongly with both of your opinions.

Posters that make a determination about what kind of fighter Canelo is and what kind of career he will have when he is only 23 are ****ing ******ed. Lets see how his career plays out.
One thing that will never change is the judges favoring him heavily. You disgree? So you believe the Mayweather fight was a draw and Trout was down that much in the middle of the fight? Because no one else looking at it objectively believes either of those two things happened.

What clearly happens in EVERY Canelo fight is he is given every advantage.

Yes they fought, all within the same time frames as todays fighters have fought. We are waiting for one fight. should it happen by Dec 31, 2015, it will have taken place within the same 5 yr period as Hagler/SRL, the one fight we all really wanted just like the one I am alluding to.

Boy, I sure wish we could take NSB back in the hot tub time machine. What I wouldn't give to see a year of clowns calling SRL a duck becuase he didn't fight Hearns the next day after he KO'd Pipino Cuevas.

Or read how Hagler was a brawler with no skill.

Good, because we already know the outcome if the judges are involved.

If That happens it might make this fight worth paying for.

We are not waiting for just one fight. There are a dozen fights that should have been made in the last 2 years that--if things continue--we will never get so I completely disagree. Its not an analogous situation. Resumes of today's fighters just dont stack up.

                  .
Is also true that is not the same to do a fight when both opponents are on their prime in comparison of doing 3 years later. For instance, Mayweather Pacquiao fight is not the same now after 2 loses of Paquiao than 5 years ago when both fighter were in their prime. Lara is not young. He only has a couple of more good years. Im glad the fight is done now and not 3 years later when Lara could be a bum also

You had more fights because there was more networks showing the sport. Its a completely different structure now.

We also get good fights. People just whine too much when its not excatly who they want. Case in point Danny v Herrera. That turned out to be a dman good fight that posters ****ted on simply because it wasn't danny against who they wanted.

Back then fans also knew alot more about the sport so a fight that maybe wasn't exactly what they wanted they still could enjoy.

Again, fans patience is the problem. Just because NSB posters write a guy off who loses or doesn't have his best night doesn't mean the fighter is actually washed up and doesn't deserve to be in fights.

Like duran-his fights with cuevas, benitez, laing, hagler, hearns and Moore were all AFTER No mas. Imagine that today-posters would be crying about duran getting fights because he quit.

He'd be treated like Victor Ortiz.
