I bet Canelo low balled Lara, and knowing that he has a fight in May, he wants him in July what a lot of BS.

I guess like Southpawology said, time for Lara to get injured, Sorry Ishe
    well said. Thanks

Ok so Nelo calls him out now and ooooOOOOoooOOOOoOOoo **** stop the presses!! Gimmie a fkn break. This "call out" is as strategic as they get. I don't buy this sht for a second. Canelo is the one fighter that has to prove to me he is what they say he is. Good fighter, YES. Great fighter, prove it to me.
Is sending the contract and waiting for their answer also part of the strategy? This ain't a twitter call out you can't get more official than this. The fight happening all depends on Lara now.

        No doubt about it....

This is what I've been saying. Trying to screw Lara over. Risking overtraining.

Nobody is saying canelo is a great fighter..nobody is calling him a p4p fighter...hes good and thats it, like i said there is no reason for lara to turn down the fight.. Lara knew he was fighting in may when he called out canelo so just skip the smith fight and get ready for a big money fight..canelo doesnt need lara to make good money..lara has been begging for this fight he should accept it

#BALDERDASH. The timing is sketchy. Not the best time to offer Lara a fight. How is he supposed to accept when he has a fight to win first? Is he supposed to accept and go into an Ishe fight with Canelo on his mind? Or is he supposed to fight Ishe and think about not getting hurt too bad because he needs to be ready to fight 2 months after against a very strong Canelo? C'mon stop trying to feed me gerber, im capable of eating a well done steak. It's purely mind games and don't front like if the shoe was on the other foot that you would be praising it as a "fair" challenge.

Here eat this steak, it looks well done...

He said 'I'm not afraid of fighting anybody.' It's very similar on how he came to me to [demand a]fight with Austin Trout, because a lot of people felt he wouldn't fight Austin Trout and I think he shut a lot of people up there," Schaefer told BoxingScene.com.

"Now he wants to fight Lara and my hat goes off to Canelo, for wanting to take on a guy who is no question one of the most dangerous 154-pounders with a deep amateur background as well. We are in the final stages of hopefully negotiating that fight and hopefully it will get done."

Schaefer is currently in talks with Lara's team. The Cuban boxer is scheduled to defend his title against former IBF champion Ishe Smith on May 2nd at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

Schaefer and Canelo are taking no chances. In 2012, when Canelo's first pay-per-view was planned - they had several potential opponents fall through. One of them, Victor Ortiz, was knocked off when his jaw was broken by Josesito Lopez - in a fight where Ortiz was a heavy favorite to win.

This time around, if the two sides are able to reach a deal, it is highly likely that Lara will be pulled from the May fight with Smith to avoid the possibility of injury.

"Obviously, as part of the negotiations we would have to evaluate if he is going to be staying in that fight or not. That is all part of the ongoing negotiations," Schaefer said.
