I'm glad it's not selling tickets. The casual boxing fan that showed up to the huge PPV event that was Pac-Bradley I is rightfully thinking: 'wait...the first one was a roberry. Why the hell would I shell out $70 to watch the same crap again?'. Add that to the fact that Pac's born-again crap is nauseating (even to fans of his like me), and you've got a recipe for a tanked PPV event.

People are not buying tickets to see a rematch consisting of two fighters, in which one fighter clearly dominated his opponent 10 rounds to 2?

Ticket sales and PPV revenue don't matter for any sport. Sports can go on without money being generated. What matters is us real hardcore fans getting to enjoy a good game/fight with an empty arena and no one else wanting to chip in with us.

Who cares anyway? Who wants a casual fan next to them, talking **** while you are trying to score and analyze the fight, they ask you ****** questions like "Will Manny Pacquiao ever fight Bernard Hopkins?" and "If Floyd been on top since the late 90s, how come he never fought Evander Holyfield, Mike Tyson or Lennox Lewis?"

Forget ticket sales and PPV rev, just enjoy the fight. Who cares if a fighter isn't generating any money, our reward is not a cut from the revenue, our reward is good fight, so we shouldn't care.

Look at the now-defunct Montreal Expos and the Florida Marlins(before Miami move), they couldn't generate **** at gate revenue, as a result, they were very good teams and were able to afford to sign the best players and attract championship players. They generated so much money the owners sold the teams cause they had made enough money.

Fans who care about what boxing fights are generating are not real fans. Point blank. They act like money is so important in pro sports, it really isn't, it's all about the fans getting entertained. even if there are no fans watching, because no network wants to risk throwing money at a sport that doesn't generate. But still, it's all about the real boxing fans.

No Montreal left because they couldnt generate any money in their city and were forced to leave. They wanted and needed a new stadium and the city didnt support them. Florida did generate championships and had the crowd for those runs but soon after they began to take apart team because they couldnt generate the revenue to keep all those players and thats where they are now. So yes sports do need money to keep going.
