Ricky Burns never leaves Scotland. Carl Frampton and Scott Quigg never leave the UK.
If it's ok for Euro fighters to do it then it should be ok for Ward to do it as well.Comment

Its not like any of these guys has met any foreign fighters with the drawing power of Kessler and Froch. At least not that I am aware of.Comment

Who was Ricky Burns supposed to leave Scotland for? Crawford? Who has no following whatsoever in America. Ok cool lets have fighters make less money for no reason. Derp.
Who were Frampton and Quigg supposed to travel to fight so far in their careers where it would have been beneficial?
Judging by his recent inactivity and legal issues with his promoter, I don't think Andre Ward is enjoying the fact that a man he comfortably beat in the Super Six is now earning probably 3 times more than him.Comment

Burns was offered the biggest payday of his career by Golden Boy Promotions to come fight Adrien Broner. But he turned it down. It's only ok to criticize Ward for staying home doe.
As far as money is concerned...like I said, I won't criticize a boxer for choosing the option that pays him the most. I've always been consistent about that regardless of where a fighter is from. Some of these other posters though are hypocrites if they say it's ok for certain guys to do it but not ok for others (i.e. Adonis Stevenson.)Comment

Burns definitely ducked Broner. I don't think anyone would question that. I don't think it had much to do with location though.Comment

Oh please lol
Any Euro with a belt is constantly slagged off for not taking it to America if there is any remotely decent American name in the division.
You mention Ricky Burns, why was the emphasis on him going to America for Broner? He was the defending champ... Nobody ever considered Broner going to Scotland.
The reason - Money. (Don't even get me started on how spoon fed that kids been)
So, you know what when the money is in Europe I feel entitled to play by the same rules and call out any American that won't travel.
If you want Froch-Ward 2, it's his turn to travel and the moneys in Wembley. We all know Ward will ***** out of fighting outside America though.Comment

And yes I agree, the point I was making is that GGG and Ward aren't 'the big fight' for these guys, biggest challenges yes, but they're smaller fights than what we got going on over here.If they want to prove they are the best, for legacy, they will fight Ward.
But if they choose to avoid him because they don't want a loss and because they can make more money elsewhere then I understand. I'll never be mad at a fighter for going where the most money is.
That's why I'm perfectly fine with Stevenson choosing a more lucrative offer instead of facing Kovalev.Comment

thought Kessler woulda been back by now
if he hasn't returned yet, don't think he will
or if he does, he won't cut it at the top of his division anymore
assuming he's in good form, there's guys he could still beat
woulda liked a 3rd Froch fight, though Froch shoulda won the 1st tooComment
