Comments Thread For: Team Frampton Hope To Lure Leo Santa Cruz To Belfast

Carl Frampton beat Hugo Cazares in the second round of their super bantamweight WBC title eliminator in Belfast.

The 27-year-old Northern Irishman, ranked number two overall in the weight division, put Mexican Cazares on the canvas with a left hook in the second round at the Odyssey Arena.

Cazares, 36, appeared to mistime the 10-count before getting up and therefore missed out on a title shot against his countryman and incumbent WBC champion Leo Santa Cruz, who is unbeaten in 28 fights.

They'll fight where it makes the most money. Frampton is a draw in Northern Ireland. How about Leo?

          I didn't. I said they'll fight where they'll make the most money.

It doesn't matter if he's already a draw in NI, they know who he is and they get behind him in their thousands.

If Santa Cruz can make more money fighting a champ of a similar calibre in the States then more power to him. If it's a mandatory then it could go to purse bids.

Cmon man, first of all it was i,answering your question with a question of my own,not vice versa...secondly do you think any american fighter will risk fighting over seas when they're known for not giving visiting fighters a fair shake? Leo knows that ,and i dont think he will go to ireland for a fight against a guy who isnt well known in the states...at least if frampton fights in the states he will get more recognition from u.s fans, dont you think?

Leo is not trying to go to Belfast and get robbed of his title and then have his car blow up on him in the parking lot on the way out.

WTF happen the phrase i'll fight you anywhere any place ahahahahahaah why is it that Mexicans are always in Japan, USA, Philippines, thailand or anywhere else their opponent is at. Of course not just only Mexican fight aboard but Mexican do it way more. also more people would flock to carson depot or staples center than belfast.
