This fight completely slipped my mind, seems like Stevens got more than he bargained for.

Cunningham looked more hurt against Mansour but he still managed to turn it around and win the fight.

What a biased article. Who in the world wrote that piece of clap trap?
Reports it as fact that Johnson was robbed and should've been allowed to continue? What about that's Shaw's and Johnson's and some fan's opinion?
Stevens landed a nice left hook that slowed Johnson down? He landed A BUNCH of unanswered punches and Johnson was out on his feet... defenseless and exhausted near the end of a fight... prime time for serious injury to occur.
What would've happened for that last minute? MORE unanswered punches? Brain damage? Geez... rematch or not... Johnson can fight another day... and will get some good fights now because of his performance in this one.
Yes, Stevens was lucky, and if there is a rematch he has his homework cut out for him... but damn, that was a good stoppage. Get over it.

I vote best stoppage of the year.....
Originally posted by JFalu View PostI agree with the stoppage. the guy was out on his feet. He was barely defending himself. He showed pretty bad signs. It took him several seconds to realize the ref even stopped the fight. He lost. Plain and simple. Accept it and move on. Maybe stop hugging your opponent's space all 12 rounds and you might actually land some flush shots. vplp

The ref did his job preventing Curtis from landing a clean shot on a defenseless guy. Sure Curtis missed the first few after landing that bomb but it was k ney a matter of seconds before he would have clocked him again. Great job ref!!!!!! Casual boxing fans need to realize " The fight ain't over until the final bell rings or the ref steps in and stops it". Good fight and Curtis lost almost every rd except the last one which counted as a TKO........

Since Stevens was losing, he should have had to finish him the old fashioned way. Now, if he was dominating up to that point, i'd have no issue with the stoppage.
