I agree that Rigondeaux will beat Frampton...right now. Who knows about a year or 2 down the line? Frampton is fast improving, keeps hitting harder and adds something new to his arsenal every time he fights.

I remember meeting the young man a few years back when he was just a hot prospect and I've never seen Barry McGuigan this excited by a young talent. At first I thought it was managerial speak but the more I see of The Jackal, the more impressed I am.

But all that aside, Frampton has unfinished business and lots to learn before he even contemplates a Rigondeaux fight. Over the next 12 months or so, he is looking at fighting and hopefully winning against both Cruz and Quigg, two big, big fights. And then he can look at the man in his division.

The Jackal wants none of El Chacal. The replica is never as good as the original.

        Keep ducking son.

Actually, I think Frampton is down to fight Rigo. It's his manager that wants none of it. A real champion always wants to fight the best (as Carl acknowledged Guillermo is). It's up to his handlers to see the big picture and steer him in the right direction. They want Frampton to take bigger money fights he actually has a chance of winning. Carl has little hope of beating Rigo.

Well the headline for the other article says "Frampton" to lure LSC, not "Team Frampton".

can we stop using the "the fighter isn't scared, its his team/promoter that's scared." excuse. it's not like these guys are ******. a guy like cleverly demanded to fight kovalev and got the fight. frampton could do the same if he wanted. any fighter can, but fighters like the feeling of winning.

You know how these Boxingscene headlines are. They're often misleading. The video someone posted on this thread tells the tale.

Sure, some guys can push for a fight they really want; but most guys follow the lead of their team. I think it's a good policy for them, for the most part. There's no doubt some fighters hide behind their advisors. I just happen to believe Frampton, in this case.

Frampton withdrew from a mandatory position with the IBF to chase the WBC title. The IBF title is held by a guy he already knocked clean out. So to suggest Frampton is a ducker is a bit ****** when he's chasing a harder fight with Santa Cruz.

There's no need to suddenly surrender his WBC mandatory position to fight Rigo where he would likely make less money too. Let him fight Santa Cruz - do people not like that fight??!?! Then Rigo can come after in a more lucrative unification.
