Nah, it was a money thing. HBO felt that Showtime wouldn't have the budget, therefore HBO would be his only option.

I was shocked that you even had mods (battling nelson) participating in the immature duck duck goose talks (shocked) calling posters out for what? (someones opinion) it's not that serious at all.........I only started to take notice to these talks when my name was brought up in his thread. someone named me as one of the guys riding stevenson (when i was away and could care less about the back and fourth bickering & didn't say ANYTHING towards the subject) i also noticed a trend in calling out random "slick brothas" (as some would put it) in that thread.........it just became ignorant.

again.....i was absolutely shocked that it was a mod thread.

            but whatever.

Lol...Thomas Hauser gassed a lot of fools up with his HBO write up a few years ago, only to expose himself as a true Top Rank shill and help create the very state of affairs which boxing suffers from right now. I predicted this very climate years ago, and shoutout to jrosales because he and I briefly spoke on this direction shorty after the Pacquiao/Mosley fight.

So to break it down in layman terms for slow people,HBO was offering Stevenson less money then they paid Andre Ward for Ward`s last fight, even though Stevenson does better ratings then Ward, and does far bigger ticket sales then Ward,And HBO tried to short change Stevenson because HBO thought Showtime spent most of their budget on Floyd,so as a result, HBO thought that Showtime would not be able to afford to give Stevenson a better off,but HBO thought wrong and Showtime gave Stevenson a better offer. So that means Stevenson was down for a Kovalev fight but just wanted a fair deal, and it also mean`s that it wasn't Al Haymon`s fault that the Kovalev/Stevenson fight was not agreed upon, because Stevenson turned down HBO unfair offer before Haymon came along,Stevenson bought in Haymon to try to get a bigger off from HBO,but Haymon couldn't convince HBO because HBO thought Stevenson had no other bigger money network Options, but thought wrong.

AFter reading this its clear HBO simply ****ed up and now the are trying to win the PR war.

I still don't think Stevenson wants to fight Kovalev, but he didn't do anything wrong here.
Did you read the article?Stevenson was down for the Kovalev fight just as long as HBO paid him fairly, but HBO tried to short-change him.Stevenson isn't GGG,Stevenson don`t cherry pick,Stevenson wanted to fight Hopkins who was more deserving then Kovalev, but Stevenson was willing to fight Kovalev before Hopkins if the money is right,But HBO tried to short change Stevenson because they thought that Showtime spent virtually all their budget on Mayweather, and as a result HBO thought they would not be able to afford Stevenson.

I was thinking for months that somebody at HBO is gonna get fired this year or next year, because too many big name fighters are leaving HBO.
