Comments Thread For: Malignaggi Considers Porter Better Than Adrien Broner

Paulie Malignaggi and Shawn Porter respectfully disagreed about whether Malignaggi deserved a victory over Adrien Broner.

Malignaggi and Porter both believe, however, that Porter is a better fighter than Broner, who beat Malignaggi by split decision nine months ago at Barclays Center in Malignaggi’s native Brooklyn. The 33-year-old Malignaggi will try to become a two-time welterweight world champion April 19, when he is scheduled to challenge Porter (23-0-1, 14 KOs) for Porter’s IBF 147-pound crown on the Bernard Hopkins-Beibut Shumenov undercard at Washington’s D.C. Armory. [Click Here To Read More]

I think Broner could sort of keep Porter on his toes and at a distance but I don't know if Adrien could handle one of Porter's hooks...especially one of those in close quarters compact hooks he throws. I'd say a 50/50 fight based on whoever shows up hell bent on pushing their game plan harder.

I think Porter would be a nightmare for Broner.

Porter's quite good IMO. Impressed me against Alexander.

      Nothing special but he's good.

Both average fighters but Porter would win stylistically.

Porter is NOT an average fighter. He's better than that, and I thought you guys were too....

But then he clearly beat Diaz and Alexander.

I'm not a fan of Porter AT ALL but sometimes you guys are a little too critical. This is gonna sound cliche as hell but why couldn't it be that he had an off night or lack of experience?

FYI I dont think highly of Porter either.

And Julio Diaz went on to fight Khan where he knocked him down and in many people's eyes won the fight. Julio Diaz is a solid former world champion.

Porter is a better welter-weight than Broner.
