  • Which Fight Is More Challenging For Hopkins.. Is It Stevenson Or Kovalev?

In my view Hopkins vs Stevenson is a 50-50 fight, just like Stevenson vs Kovalev or Hopkins vs Kovalev. Neither Stevenson or Kovalev have ever been in the ring with someone of Hopkins ability and skill set. As long as Hopkins is in good form and doesn't get old overnight he stands a good chance of beating both fighters, even at this advanced age.

So out of Stevenson and Kovalev, who do you think presents the more difficult challenge for B-Hop?

Kovalev, since Adonis fights at a slower pace it will give Hopkins more time to move, shoot a punch and hold.

        Precisely.

Stevenson would chase B-Hop and try to catch him with single big shots, B-Hop knows how to neutralize that type of fighters. Kovalev would throw punches in bunches, wouldn't give him time to rest, much more difficult to deal with.

Kovalev, since Stevenson seems more of a single-shot guy. Although having said that I would be very unsure until I actually saw the two fights, Hopkins is crazy good at profiling and opponent analysis, and he might be able to target one specific wrinkle in either fighter and make the fight look different to how we thought it might go. He still loses to both though.

At this age and stage, both dudes stand a good chance even though they're not really that good imo....if I had to choose one, it would be Stevenson....BHop struggles with athletic cats with velocity....Frankenstein will up the pace and could out work the legend....like I said, both have certain tools in their box that could come in handy against BHop....but if I had to pick one, it would be Adonis because of his speed and athleticism....that's all!!

There's not a whole lot that separates Adonis from Frankenstein in my book....H2H I think Frankenstein beats Adonis though

I'm going to say Kovalev. I think there's a better chance he neutralizes Stevenson's left hand and roughs him up for a win than there is that he neutralizes Kovalev's assault.

Let's wait at least until grandpa fights Shumenov...
At 50, Hopkins may show his age anytime.
(of course, this in case his fights aren't fixed...)

I would have to say that Stevenson would be the greater challenge in my view because he is the more skilled and versatile of the two. On the other hand, Kovalev game is mostly offensive which plays right into Bernard's hands.

Sergey likes to walk his opponents down and overwhelm them with power. Even at the tender age of 49, with arguably diminished reflexes, Hopkins a defensive oriented boxer and fighting off the back foot; Would easily set traps against Kovalev's aggression by timing and countering him at will.

Overall, Hopkins experience would be the difference in a hypothetical match up against Sergey Kovalev. He typically shines against offensive fighters who try to overwhelm him with power, e.g. Trinidad, Pavlik and Cloud to just to name a few.
