So I see GGG is the new scapegoat for fighters who duck

For starters: I am not one of those fans who believe that GGG is a destructive force who everyone is scared to death of. I can't even say I'm really a fan of his, but I think he has great potential. Arguably, his resume is shit at the moment for the most part.

However, you can't deny that his options aren't good. Sturm, from what I understand, practically paid the WBA not to fight him (not clear on the details on what exactly happened there). Quillin admitted he doesn't want to fight the best and Martinez opted to fight Cotto, who's a relatively small junior middleweight. Now that's a cherry pick if you ask me.

The same people who criticize GGG for not fighting Lara are the same people who'd claim that Lara wouldn't be a good win because he's a blown up Junior Middleweight fighting at Middleweight for the first time; the latter being what I would actually tend to agree with at this point. Lara should ease into middleweight.

GGG is now moving up in weight to fight Chavez Jr, who's a more dangerous opponent than he gets credit for considering that he'll likely outweigh GGG by nearly 20 pounds on fight night. As for him "ducking" Ward, GGG hasn't even had a fight at 168 yet so a fight with him wouldn't be wise.

Quillin's situation: He's protected as hell, not even debatable.

Stevenson's situation: He avoided a much anticipated Kovalev fight after a massive amount of shit talking going on between them for a potential fight with Hopkins. Is Hopkins a bigger name? Yes. But the fact remains the Kovalev fight was supposed to happen but he left HBO rather than fight him. That is the definition of a duck, regardless of the motives behind it.

So stop bringing up GGG every time Quillin or Stevenson get called out on ducking because the situations are not the same and you're only making yourself look ******. Thanks.

Its race driven, that much has already been established as we see the same thing happening with Kovalev, and lo and behold, surprise surprise....its always the same posters. Now, what do each and every one of these spastics have in common? They're all floydgimps.

Unfortunately its not just floyd-toys, there are a number of posters who don't like GGG who aren't exactly Floyd fans either. But yes, I do recognize the pattern which you speak of.

It's funny seeing some of GGG's naysayers call him a duck. ShoulderRoll ready to criticize him for people not fighting guys in his same promotion or even the same network... but when it comes to certain fighters he likes... it's acceptable.

Dude was trying to say yesterday nobody in GBP wants to fight him and that makes Thurman avoided. But when guys who have obvious roadblocks say they want to fight GGG even though they know it's there, he's a duck.

        GTFO of here

Nelson's thread really brought it home just what these floydiots are all about, and thats racism. As for GGG, I cant really see what the guy has done wrong. Being made to wait around like a sentry for the biggest fights while promoters and the networks try and increase their slice has become the norm, but at least Golovkin is staying busy whilst these people avoid him.

I used to read these arguments before joining this site.

I think the point for most posters is that when GGG and his team laughed at Lara calling him out, posters pointed out the network politics in addition to the things you posted above as legitimate reasons why the fight couldn't happen. They make it about the situation and not GGG.

With Quillin, certain posters don't point out the same things. They make it about Quillin rather than about the situation. Thats not equal.

I agree with you, Stevenson is completely different. He didn't want to fight Kovalev now, if at all.

This is the only part I take issue with. Martinez opted to fight Cotto because he's the third biggest money maker in and around his division. He took a PPV fight against a huge name. That's not a cherry pick, it's something that everyone would do including Golovkin.

And the proof is in the pudding with regards to the Golovkin/Chavez/Ward situation. His team chose a PPV fight against the bigger money maker in Chavez. It's pretty much the exact same situation. So the hypocrisy needs to end on that.

The rest I agree with - Stevenson and Quillin can go eat ****s.
