It would make sense for Showtime to sign Pascal so he can fight stevenson if he beats bhop.

My guess is he would fight shumenov and/or fonfora on the undercard of the bhop/stevenson fight (assuming they win) to set it up.

Good point. Pascal does benefit the most from being a free agent like cotto. He definitely isn't a million dollar fighter, but a 3 fight deal at 1 mill (and the option for canadian ppv) in't bad.

That's not the only problem. Even when Pascal isn't gassed, he only fights for two 30 second periods per round. And while he is very fast and athletic, his offensive technique is a mess and his fundamental defense is nearly nonexistent.

A busy pressure fighter with solid technique and murderous power is about the worst style matchup imaginable for Pascal. I wouldn't blame him if he turned down the fight. It's not a duck when everyone knows you can't win.

This is a good fight and the best option now but I have a feeling Pascal won't accept and try to go the Stevenson route sadly..

Pascal and Kovalev would be a very interesting fight. People are hyping the he'll out of Kovalev and yet his most impressive performance was against a B level opponent in Cleverly. Pascal has fought many more impressive fighters in Bute, Dawson, Johnson, and Hopkins. I wouldn't put it against Pascal to pull of an upset and possibly ending the fight( doubtful).

I do enjoy the fact Kovalev want to fight anyone but until that turns into prime opponents, I can't say much.

Since when does Pascal want to fight Stevenson? I don't think he's too eager about getting in there with Kovalev either. Kovalev is going to get Keith Thurman'd from here on out. They are staying the fck away from him.

And I like Pascal and his poor man's Roy Jones style, but I wouldn't bet my house on him against Cleverly. Not saying he would lose, but he would have his hands full with a lengthy and busy guy like Clev.

It's really disappointing to NOT see Andre Ward shout for a match against Kovalev. It's the biggest fight out there for him, that HBO could offer. Ward is looking real suspect right now.
