Only guys like Paulie will never have a puncher's chance. He'll either outbox Porter or he loses.

Maidana needs to land a big shot that changes the course of the fight. He can do it even if the odds are .1%. Is it really any wonder why so many people could imagine a scenario where Maidana uses his heavy punch to KO or hurt Mayweather despite the miniscule odds of that happening? People get excited about Mega Lottery jackpots and the odds of success are far smaller.
malignaggi's chances to KO Porter are the same as Maidana's chances against Floyd, .0001

If he had Julian Jackson power, then, maybe this is even worth discussing. That's not the situation. Maidana can land a dozen of his better shots on Floyd and that isn't enough. Mayweather is tough can take a shot. Fast on the recovery too if he gets hurt. Never understand why people like to delude themselves with this line of exploration when it comes to Floyd Mayweather. He's not the guy you're going to Hail Mary.

He has a puncher's chance, it's just he lacks speed and takes too long loading up. If he lands a big shot, he can hurt FMJ so he definitely has the puncher's chance if nothing else.

I haven't seen any credible boxing experts that give Maidana anything other than a punchers chance. I saw people saying Guerrero had a shot, I don't see anyone saying that with this fight outside of Maidana fans and Floyd fans that want to hype this guy up.

The only interesting thing for me is that Maidana has shown a tendency to fight dirty if need be. That's not a diss on him, I actually respect it and shows that he really wants to win. We saw it against Broner and also a little bit against Alexander in the middle rounds. I guarantee you one thing, if Maidana hits Floyd with a low blow he won't drop his hands and kiss him on the head and take a sucker punch.

Cotto, Canelo, Corrales, DLH, Mosley all had more of a puncher's chance. People need to get real....

People always end up hyping the underdog's chance to make it interesting for themselves. It's human nature. Your gut reaction when the fight was announced gets overruled, but that's normally the most accurate one.

He has a punchers chance, but I don't think he'll have any chance to land it. Even if he does land a big shot, it's gonna take more than one big shot to put down Floyd and you better believe Floyd isn't going down without a fight. Say what you want about the guy personally, but the dragon wins and claws will immediately come out if he's in danger as Naazim said.
