Everyone here knows the only chance Maidana has is a punchers chance. No need to see tape or anything else. They know nothing will help Maidana outbox Mayweather.

So he just needs to work on stamina, throwing as many punches from as many angles as possible, and just wait for 12 rounds to see if that punch ever lands.

Garcia wants Maidana to go into the fight mentally strong and confident. That's why he will be the one watching tape not Chino, it's Garcia's job to implement a game plan based on what he sees.

This whole thing has been whimsical at best. He's having him watch Rocky and **** like that. I see it all time, people mistake Floyd until they get in there.

Before fight: Floyd doesn't punch that hard.
After fight: Floyd punches harder than I originally thought.

Everybody says it all the time with Floyd. It's different in the ring with Floyd, its just different. He's cerebral in the ring and Marcos is going in with this false hope believe. Garcia is quoted as saying he can't let him watch Floyd fight because it would discourage him. No! You need to know the enormity of what is up against. The most accurate puncher in the history of boxing. Top three defensive fighter of all time and they are making it a blockbuster night, watching Rocky. That beatdown that Marcos would like to give Floyd would be better served on May 4th for Robert for leading Marcos into a gunfight with a dull plastic butter knife.

He still has to see it. It's one thing to develop tunnel vision for the mission at hand, however, Robert, given this way of training, can really only train Marcos one way and hope that it plays out like this. Floyd fights everyone differently and adjusts on the fly. Floyd likes to say that he doesn't watch tape but we know he's bull****ting, he's probably watched the Broner fight more than anyone here and has dissected it in his mind. Your eyes need to see the tendencies so that you can react, not just go with what your trainer says. Your trainer isn't in the ring with you.

I would agree with Garcia, even if Floyd makes it look easy making it look easy and it being easy are totally different things

Well what do you want him to do sit down and say chino Mayweather is light years ahead of you in every aspect. In all likelihood you're gonna lose every round?

He's suppose to fill his fighter with confidence. He's suppose to say Mayweather ain't that great, you can beat him its just like your last fight.

Otherwise why train? Why take the fight?

I would go with Garcia on this one with regards to the video. He really seems to have improved Maidana in nearly every aspect so he is doing something right.

Don't really see Maidana winning this against Floyd, but I can imagine Garcia will have him turned up in FULL BEAST MODE

It is a delicate balance, you have to keep your guys confidence up but you also have to prepare him for the real task at hand.

It is easy to get it out of whack, but it also comes down to what that specific guy needs to hear, not being in camp makes it tough to tell what a guy needs to hear.

I am not against Maidana not watching tape, but holding a belief that Broner is stronger than Mayweather is silly. Garcia should correct his misconception. Confidence and a belief that Maidana is stronger and can hurt FMJ is fine. But to me, Maidana is drawing too much from his win over Broner. FMJ is not invincible, but if you are not fully aware of what you are getting in the ring with, you will lose badly.
