I'm not too sure that Ward-Rodriguez got 3.15M because Ward's purse was 1.9M and Rod's purse was 1M (Rod lost 20% for coming in overweight, half went to Ward, half to CSAC). So that would be 2.9M, but still HBO offered less than 2.5M for Stevenson-Kovalev? I guess they didn't care too much about this fight.

IF they skimped on price that is their fault for ***** footing around and thinking they had the big **** in the room when they didn't.

They played the game the best way they thought they could but they lost when they really didn't have to lose because what are they even going to spend that extra money on in relation to boxing (if they even do) that is even close to as good. Are they going to spend that extra money on another trip to China for Zou Shiming (who I am sure almost no Americans give 1 **** ass about), maybe Provodnikov beating up some schlep.

It is sad where HBO is going

So as of March 3 Kathy Duva by her own admission didn't have a deal yet and was thinking of moving on to another opponent?

What she said was that she didn't have Stevenson's signature, but she repeats the claim that they were all in agreement.

Kathy Duva of Main Events wants a fight between power-punching light heavyweights Adonis Stevenson and Sergey Kovalev to be a done deal, but it’s not there

HBO messed up giving Ward $3m, now every Tom, Quack and Ducker thinks they're entitled to the unrealistic inflated figure.

With that said, it's hard not to look at HBO and ask WTF they are doing, and what are they even in it for. The facts are they severely overpaid for a ****ing tuneup fight and weren't willing to pay for one of the biggest fights in 2014. I'm all in on levy hear, and if you read my previous posts you would see that, but HBO dropped the ball. Not Stevenson or his team.

I'm basically backing up and doing a 180 on this situation.
This is what I call being objective...My feelings exactly. Stevenson didn't seem too eager to fight Kovalev before any of this happened, but if you pay 3 million for a tuneup fight for Ward, you're not underpaying me when my ratings are higher and the proposed fight is one of the biggest on the HBO schedule of 2014. That's like the skank that sleeps with every guy on the block on the first night, but wants you to date her for a month to get in the panties. Im not that guy and wouldn't expect Stevenson to be either...

That's what Yvon Michel has been saying the whole time too, that Stevenson hadn't signed the contract. That part appears to be true then since Duva confirms it.

You can't both threaten to move on and then threaten to sue when the other person moves on. Either they both had a deal and they were both obligated, or neither was.

Once Duva said she was going to move on, she conceded that there was no agreement.
