I'm not too sure that Ward-Rodriguez got 3.15M because Ward's purse was 1.9M and Rod's purse was 1M (Rod lost 20% for coming in overweight, half went to Ward, half to CSAC). So that would be 2.9M, but still HBO offered less than 2.5M for Stevenson-Kovalev? I guess they didn't care too much about this fight.Comment

IF they skimped on price that is their fault for ***** footing around and thinking they had the big **** in the room when they didn't.
They played the game the best way they thought they could but they lost when they really didn't have to lose because what are they even going to spend that extra money on in relation to boxing (if they even do) that is even close to as good. Are they going to spend that extra money on another trip to China for Zou Shiming (who I am sure almost no Americans give 1 **** ass about), maybe Provodnikov beating up some schlep.
It is sad where HBO is goingComment

So as of March 3 Kathy Duva by her own admission didn't have a deal yet and was thinking of moving on to another opponent?Comment

Honestly its hard to say Stevenson is in the wrong completely. He's clearly ducking though, and well before any of this happened made it clear he didn't want Lev.
With that said, it's hard not to look at HBO and ask WTF they are doing, and what are they even in it for. The facts are they severely overpaid for a ****ing tuneup fight and weren't willing to pay for one of the biggest fights in 2014. I'm all in on levy hear, and if you read my previous posts you would see that, but HBO dropped the ball. Not Stevenson or his team.
I'm basically backing up and doing a 180 on this situation.Last edited by hhwff3000; 03-30-2014, 06:33 PM.Comment

What she said was that she didn't have Stevenson's signature, but she repeats the claim that they were all in agreement.

Once Duva said she was going to move on, she conceded that there was no agreement.Comment
