I always understood the business side of Adonis moving over to Showtime.
I blame HBO 100% for being unwilling to match amounts, and for not having the fight signed months ago, allowing Haymon and Showtime to swoop in and steal Adonis. All of this makes sense.
However what I really dislike about Adonis, is his s**t talking he's doing about Kovalev. Now that he knows the fight is unlikely he choses to run his mouth talking about Kovalev. Why didn't he do this before? Why when they asked who do you want to fight, Kovalev was never in his vocabulary?
He choses now to talk s**t?Comment

Here's a excerpt from the yahoo article:
HBO Sports executives are scurrying trying to figure out what happened and trying desperately to enhance a non-PPV schedule that looks fairly barren. An HBO source said Haymon asked for 40 percent more than HBO had agreed upon to pay Stevenson. The same source said further than Haymon told the network he would only negotiate a one-fight deal, for Stevenson-Fonfara, and wouldn't talk about a potential bout with Kovalev even if HBO had agreed to the 40-percent increase.Comment

How??? According to you, Stevenson is ducking Kovalev because he took a better offer from another network that's gonna make the Kovalev fight almost impossible to make. GGG has danced around the Ward fight with one excuse after another contradicting himself. But he took a fight in the division that Ward rules, against a lesser fighter and bigger draw. You not seeing the parallel and double standard is what's foolish:bukkake:
Stevenson was going to get a bigger share of the money for fighting a guy the same size as him, 70/30 in his favour, I believe.
Golovkin was not even being offered a 50/50 split to move up and fight a bigger guy. Surely you can see the difference in those two situations?Comment

I can't say he's physically afraid of him, but he's "scared" of the possibility of not cashing out on Hopkins fight(s). I'd say the fight between Stevenson and Kovalev is about 50/50, and if Stevenson loses, the Hopkins deal might be out of reach.Comment
