Ruslan Provodnikov, in the words of Max

"He's like a caveman who had a spear in his hand and was frozen right before he was about to slay a sabretooth. Then he was melted down, they took the spear out of his hand and put boxing gloves on him." - Max Kellerman

He made me want to go hit the bag! I'm excited for Provodnikovs future.

wasn't familiar with him before the Bradley fight
ref mighta cost him that fight, crucial extra points were missed
really wish he woulda won that fight
Ruslan definitely earned plenty of fans that night
he's done well since then, his future looks good
problem is TR has a dearth at JWW-WW, it's all GB

Ruslan is a cool guy. He isn't obsessed with making money. He seems like genuine warrior.

What's not to like about the guy right? He's mean as f.uck in the ring, and humble as hell outside of it.

          For sure, he's a throwback guy. He's like a mini-Drago.

Whatever he is making boxing surpasses picking up dog s.hit in a frozen, war torn Siberia.

yeah, it's nice when figthers dosen't try to maximize revenue at the expense of the sport. If he gets a few million he is set for life. He won't live like a king but the will live ok if he's smart.

kellerman was kinda right. provodnikov is a hunter in the ring, to kill a beast you have to be one. his all action style is good for the sport.

IDK what it is about him I don't like. Him and Rios. Good people. Commendable. But when I compare them to their GBP counterparts in Maidana and Matthysse tough guys who use their heads and illicit some kind of skill/attempt at defense. When I see Rios and Provo I see tough guys who want to win based on their toughness and power alone.

IMO, Provodnikov is a lot more versatile than Rios. For whatever that is worth. Provodnikov's pressure has a lot more range to it. Rios is a phone booth fighter.

I would love to see Provodnikov vs. Mathysse, or even more so Maidana.

                  That would be crazy.

I agree. I like their personalities more then their boxing. Thing is both Maidana and Matthysse have obvious limitation but they are more skilled and versatile then Rios. Rios squares up, his defense is onedimensional.

If Maidana and Matthysse fought Rios they could choose to outbox him if they would wan't to. Rios won't outbox anyone.

                    Provodnikov, i don't know.
