Stevenson should just do the fight and get it over with. I mean, a win over Kovalev will do more in terms of future monetary demand and legacy. I hate this type of cowardice in boxing today. There's no doubt Kovalev wants the fight, the fans want the fight, so go a head and make it a one-time gesture and then move on, unless, of course, you feel you can't win.

I don't know about any other fight fan, but i am getting extremely turned off by this type of behavior; it leaves me to question myself on "why should i believe in these boxers' abilities if they seemingly doubts themselves?".

Don't understand why Stevenson is so hesitant to fight him. It's a 50/50 fight, both guys have suspect chins and Kovalev is there to be countered. If he wanted money fights first, he could've fought Pascal or maybe even Bute.

As a man of color myself i'm starting to see my fellow brothers fighting tooth and nail to validate fellow black professional boxers. It's becoming downright obvious and disgusting. I'm pretty sure if Kovalev had bounced to Showtime a ton of mofo's on this site would be using that as proof Kovalev is shook but since it's the other way around now Kovalev is a bum. Same goes for ward not getting the GGG fight but being unwilling to move up 7 pounds. Look honestly it's time to stop the race flag waving..boxing is a sport where two colors matter..Green and Red. If you are in here crowing about every black boxer and on your pulpit in defense of them make sure its a valid reason. This is almost as embarrassing as the chump mofo's who can't even man up to say Bradley lost the first fight with Pacquaio. They may give the "I watched it on mute" and the ever noob bullshhh of "I watched it in slow mo". Fact remains many black boxers agree with Duva, many black boxers including all of TMT felt Bradley lost the fight. It's time to put your own insecure issues about your race and start manning the hell up because this site is rapidly turning into the same POS that every other boxing site has slowly become. A great divide of race with 95% of mofo's speaking pure unadulterated bulllshhh with no other intention than defending their race. Notice how you rarely see the brothers on this site giving anyone that's non black any props..Hell it took JMM knocking Pacquaio out for most on here to give him props because the hate for Pacquaio is so strong it somehow negated the fact the fact many of these same people had been on here for years trashing Marquez. Kovalev has wanted adonis...haven't heard adonis once stay straight up I want to fight him. Ward ain't getting GGG well there are a ton of other guys at 175..you ain't doing much at 168 bruh it's time to maybe move up. Broner was cool while he was knocking out chumps..mum was the word after Maidana handled him. Just for the sake of curiosity I would love for Floyd to take a loss...the change of tune on here would be amazing and you'd see the bandwagon mofo's easily vanish just like the Broner cheerleaders. I love Floyd but man mofo's hide behind being a fan of him like it by default puts every other black boxer on that same lane or even worse makes mofo's believe simply being a fan of Floyd somehow makes them superior in knowledge of this game we call boxing. So please get off your bullshh and love the sport as if these dudes had no color or race affiliation because shhhh looking real bad right now.
Your comment is off-base, somewhat ignorant and very stereotypical. I am African-American and have been posting on this site for years. I never liked Adrien Broner and said before the fight that I though Maidana would beat him. I was right. I didn't watch the Bradley/Pacquaio fight, It had nothing to do with race. I just don't give a damn about either fighter and didn't care who won. However, most fans believe that Pacquaio received three gift decisions against Marquez, so the fact that he lost on a gift decision should not surprise anyone. I have never been one to call a professional fighter a coward. However, I do believe that Stevenson refuses to take the Kovalev fight because he is afraid he will lose and he wants to cash in on his newfound fame by taking on fighters he thinks he can beat before he risks a loss.

I am a fan of fighters of all races and nationality. I watch virtually every fight that comes on television. I am a fan of Mayweather, Maidana, Andre Ward, JMM, Sergio Martinez, Danny Garcia and a host of others. I defend and criticize fighters of all heritages. Race and nationality doesn't have a damn thing to do with who I root for or criticize. To imply that it does just shows that you are one ignorant mofo.

Sounds like a reach to me.
Contract doesn't have to be written to be enforced, it can be oral, and it can be as much as an hand-shake. It is just that a written contract is easier to enforced in law based on the physical evidence.

Not sure, but i believed Manny's debt to Golden Boy was due to an "hand-shake agreement". This signifies "acceptance"; the three things are "offer", "consideration" and "acceptance".

Why isn't HBO suing? That says a lot to me.

If HBO doesn't feel like there is enough of a case to sue, then Main Events has an even weaker case.

depends how far out the contract is supposed to be for. i believe anything that's agreed to over a year in advance or will last over a year needs to be in writing. oral contracts are not binding in those situations.
