Agreed. I don't care to see him fight at all anymore. Hope the move backfires and he loses to either Fonfara or Hopkins, which is possible.

I think that in the long run his move will still kind of backfire. Legacy wise, there isn't much that he could do from this point on that would make people forget his run from Kovalev. Even beating Hopkins up (if he was to do so) wouldnt be enough, coz the reaction to that would be 'Old Hopkins is finally done' rather than 'Omg Stevenson is great'...Such a result would leave people saying time beat Hopkins, not Adonis, if you know what I mean.

His play has backfire written all over for his legacy and reputation.

Agreed with that as well. I think Kovalev should forget about Adonis and I think he has for now. Adonis needs Kovalev more than the other way around as he's towards the end of his career already.

So he tells Kovalev to call his manager and make the fight. Tells him that he wants the fight and yet he is afraid of Kovalev? Adonis went to Showtime because they offered him more money! Adonis is 36 years old which means he has to strike while the iron is hot. Fighting B Hop looks a heck of a lot better on his resume than Kovalev. Duva can work with Haymon. Whatever Kovalev fight deal with HBO is, I am sure after it he can finish out his contract and go to Showtime and make the deal happen. If anyone is to blame for this it is HBO. They should of made both fighters sign a contract back in January assuring the fight between them for the future. I love how ya'll call a fighter a coward and scared but there is no proof behind it. Kovalev is slow and if Agnew could tag him, what do you think a hard hitting Stevenson would do to him? And Stevenson does know how to BOX! Not just fight but BOX.

Just like ya'll gave props for Bradley resigning with Top Rematch, because it was money in the bank, guaranteed, same thing with Adonis. This is a business and it is called prize fighting. Adonis is not ducking anyone. he called out Kovalev and told him exactly what he needs to do. But I guess a scared man reacts like Adonis did.
