They could alternate rounds and KOvalev would take them both out.

I give them no chance because they won't get in the ring with him.

Yes , Adonis won the rematch 3 years later and KOed Boone in the 6th.

Here's what happened when Kovalev fought Boone.

Of course , BoxingMath is BS. So what's my point ?...That no matter what you think of the guy...Kovalev is no joke. And his latest victory wasn't some insignificant bum with a padded record...Kovalev is a very capable & dangerous fighter. And right now , he's not making any excuses to avoid Stevenson.

Agnew fought to survive. Had a thight defense by throwing close to nothing. It reminds a bit of the pacquiao vs clottey fight. Hopkins has a better defense then agnew, Hopkins can also fight at all distances but Hopkins is old and has a low workrate. Hopkins vs Kovalev is a good fight but i don't think Hopkins wins at this point.

Hopkins might be able to frustrate Kovalev, getting into his head by using his usual tactics and mindgames if they fought.

It's probable, people always overhype a fighter who shows power and is destroying sub-par competition. I want to see him in there with somebody who can box and isn't there to collect a pay check with a side of ass whooping. Still very impressive but let's not get carried away just yet. Ward should move up and challenge him.

I agree, Hopkins being super old is the only thing that has me hesitant to pick him. A younger version of Hopkins would absolutely school him though.

Its hard to look good when your opponent fights in a shell. Kovalev was bordering punching himself out on Agnew's guard.

I'm not sure what Hopkins would be able to do considering his age.

Yes, it was bound to happen. People were going Matthyse/GGG crazy on Kovalev. He's got some clear flaws that could/need to be fixed, and that probably won't show up or get taken advantage of until he fights someone in the top level, but that doesn't mean they aren't there.

Still, when he finally went to the body, he ended it quickly. I was honestly starting to think he was going to spend 12 rounds punching gloves.

Probably Hopkins of five or six years ago would UD him but Kovalev has that kind of power that he can't be counted out against anyone. Also he hasen't been in with anyone that really tested him. It will be interesting to see how he reacts when that happens. He dosen't seem like a guy that get's easily discuraged, it might make him rise to the occasion.
